Some 2K clear coat advice needed!

Usually with 2k clear you can cut and buff in 24 hours. I've used the spraymax 2k on my last build: 1 medium coat followed by 2 wet coats. wait 15-20 mins between coats. let harden 24 hours. wet sand with 1500 to remove imperfections. buff to a high gloss with your polish of choice...

Any guitars like this or close?

Was about to suggest a Godin redline but I see Silverabyss beat me to it lol. I've had one for about 6 years and its a solid instrument, doesn't feel cheap at all.

Need a boost pedal to run into my interface.. thoughts?

The Mercuriall tubescreamer vst sounds really good and its free. I actually prefer the feel of this plugin to using a real boost in front of my interface.

    Paint Chip Repair. Tips needed.

Since most guitar companies use automotive paint these days, maybe check some car bodyshop repair videos. Since its not just a scratch but a chip that goes all the way to the wood, you will need some type of filler to even the surface before using your touch up paint.

New Nut And Setting Up For Drop C, Having Problems

Buzz on open strings usually means your nut is to low and your strings are vibrating againts the top of the frets. Grab a feeler gauge and check the action at the nut. To do so place the feeler gauge between the low E and the top of the first fret. You should be aiming for 0.018''.

    Toontrack Metal Month 2016

Just bought the Mark Lewis pack and it is simply amazing. I don't think I'll need to use anything else for guitar and bass on my computer.

In Flames - "Battles" to be released 11/11/2016

I used to wear my In flames shirt with pride and always looked forward to see them live. That was 15 years ago. Now I feel sad for the new generation who never really experienced the real In flames at their peak.

Is Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 the best budget interface currently?

1st gen 6i6 user for 3 years, solid interface and drivers. Just recently got the scarlett solo gen 2 and I must admit I like it better to record instruments direct. No need for an input pad, I peak at about -6db with Emg 81 and other high output pickups. Focusrite listens to their customers...

New Gen Focusrite Scarlet Solo and 2i2: any better?

The maximum instrument input level is now +13db on most of gen2 models. They finally adressed the clipping issue everyone was complaining about.

    Cleaning a maple fretboard

I personally never use any products to clean or condition maple boards. Its to risky. A damp CLEAN microfiber tower and a bit of elbow grease does the job. In your case for really stubborn grime I would use 800 grit paper on a small sanding block and gently sand away the dirt. Finish off with...

    Acrylic enamel noob question

^this With matte clear you don't have any sanding to do. Or what you can do is spray a few gloss clear before spraying your matte clear. This will give you added protection. Make sure to scuff the gloss with 400 so the matte paint can stick.

Yep, tiger stripe camo inspired. I don't know if its the best way but here's how I did it : 1) Draw your stripes pattern on a sheet of sticking vinyl then cut them out individually. Make sure you have enough stripes to cover your entire project. 2) Paint entire guitar black and wait a few...

Thanks man! Yeah I plugged the holes with hardwood dowels then put some body filler to smooth out everything. The black winter didn't sound bad but the high end was a bit much, kinda twangy almost. Really tight and focused though. I always prefered actives anyways so I just put the good...
