MIRC guitars... please educate me, got "burnt" on a deal.

so i bought a guitar listed as what it was but with out any mention that it was a factory second, a blem, or reconditioned guitar. immediately noticing something wrong upon delivery i have been searching about these and have determined it almost certainly came from MIRC. they grade their...

Has anyone ever purchased a Chinese-copy guitar?

is it? or is it because Gibson raises their prices every year all the while, their build quality becomes more and more questionable. ...further, the act of copying them is actually not illegal in China. feel free to get more offended and watch Top Gear season 18 episode 2. decent summary of...

Is this too good to be true?

yeh as said above that seems to be going rate. 7620's can go for just a little over that from what i have seen. new pickups never bring in any more money for a guitar. sucks because a good set of pickups aren't cheap

    NGD!: Ibanez Prestige RG1421F

it's different. i'm not set on keeping it yet but i have yet to find anything else i like more than this haha! the thick body with a thin neck puts my hands/arms in angles i am just not accustomed to. taking some time to get the feel of it. i still have a little time to decide but if i do keep...

Has anyone ever purchased a Chinese-copy guitar?

...and with that example i would like to take your point and feed off it, particularly this part "it's no different to sticking an audi badge on a Hyundai. It's not a 'bad' car but it's not an audi." no, it definitely will not be an Audi. it will just look like it. you'll see it, you'll enjoy...

Has anyone ever purchased a Chinese-copy guitar?

well, i have researched these in quite a bit of depth to make sure in the future i never end up with one thinking it was a real thing. i've found that plywood is not the case at all. they use more pieces of solid wood for the body than i would personally want 3-5 (for a Les Paul body) but it's...

    NGD!: Ibanez Prestige RG1421F

well did some more work with it, lowered the action and adjusted intonation, it's way faster playing now. finally started to understand why people say that about them now. next i have to get over the neck being so thin and the body being so wide. together it seems really weird ...mind you i...

    NGD!: Ibanez Prestige RG1421F

it compares to the Jackson pretty well but when i put it down and immediately picked up my Paul Reed Smith afterwards it didn't hang quite as well to it. i guess i need to do some more tweaking

    NGD!: Ibanez Prestige RG1421F

well, i have never owned an Ibanez before so i decided it was time to try. i also knew it i were going to do it, the Ibby would have to be at least a premium ...so i went prestige used no one really reads this do they? just want to see the pics for clicks! and some closer shots...

Thinking of making to jump to a seven string!

personally i had a hard time adapting. i bought a 7 to play with a friend, didn't get along well with it. started playing with a guy who only plays 7's. many many 7's later i finally found a few i like. one thing you'll probably find about a 7 you'll be bothered with is tone wood options...

    First 7 string

i would consider looking into a Jackson Broderick Pro. quite a nice guitar for the money. i like it way more than any of the regular Jackson SLAT's i have owned ...even like it more than my MIJ SLAT3-7 i had.

Is your Hughes and Kettner TriAmp better build quality than mine?!

wonder why i got such crap luck. i loved the amp but wasn't paying brand new price for something that was broke. when i took back the 2nd one Guitar Center said, keep it for the price you bought it at or return it for store credit. basically they F'd me and wouldn't even come down on any amp i...
