You know that is the first time I have heard a bad thing about Gotoh. Are they still made in Japan. I know Grover parts are not made in USA anymore and haven’t been for a while. Perhaps quality could be slipping?

Why not leave the stock pickups? Most of the time Japanese guitars have really good unbranded pickups?

I have gold top hat inserts on my Epiphone Elite 335

Now that is a guitar! If it were me I would keep the gold hardware. But I can understand personal preference and making it your own as well!

I don’t think I have ever seen him play another guitar. From what I heard John Sykes put that mirror pickguard on his guitar at the suggestion of Phil Lynott when they were both in Thin Lizzy.

I thought he played a real Gibson. It’s a shame that David Coverdale decided to go with Adrien Vandenberg for the tour of the 1987 album. John Sykes’ playing had such fire to it.
