    Controller for use in Kontakt

It will work - but it might take some time to get used to

    Waves plugins

Fabfilter, Slate, Soundtoys, Plugin Alliance (Brainworx/SPL etc)... I have barely if ever reached for waves plugin in years... and that's just the native stuff I use.

Worth it to upgrade to protools?

    Are you studying audio?

Free Eventide 26 band EQ - iLok required FYI

Yea it's a linear phase EQ. That's what they do, it is most definitely for mastering and mixing. When was the last time you used an iLok? The large majority of users don't have a problem, and even less so in the last few years with 3 and the quality of the licence manager.

Free Eventide 26 band EQ - iLok required FYI

You can actually in many cases just register an account and register to a computer. But honestly, the 2 and 3 onwards have worked a charm without a hiccup for most people.

    Power Supply

What sort of power strip is it? Like model?

    Omnisphere?

It's certainly nice, but a lot of the things you can create with more generic sounds and effects. e.g. Dream Piano = Piano with super long reverb and a really high mix level of the reverb.

Which purchase, based on my current set up, will improve my guitar tone the most?

Yea honestly I'd say replace the POD last, and honestly, I'd on-sell it. Use an interface and some good software plugins. Work out which you like from like Thermionik, Amplitube, Line 6 Helix, Bias... you have so many options these days. Then it comes down to - are you actually going to get a...

External HDD's for Kontakt, Superior Drummer etc.

Yes. Drive reads faster. Capable/Theoretical vs real world speed is the problem here. Quality of RAM not so much, speed of it MIGHT effect it, but I doubt it. As long as the internal SSD is stable and is a SATA 3 drive you shouldn't have any problem reading from it, but it shouldn't affect...

Hired Jake Pitts (Black Veil Brides) to mix our EP, thoughts?

Dude, the loudness war is over. Look at what YouTube, Spotify, and iTunes do. Especially look at the RMS value's of mastered for iTunes stuff. You don't want to keep up in the loudness war, that's like wanting to keep up with the dudebro who's skulling a bottle of Jack Daniels to be cool.

Ummm... what? Absolutely night and day difference there.

    Thoughts on Hackintosh?

Compatible doesn't mean optimal though. Like there's a likely setup of most stable components, and because you can't install drivers in OSX, you need them to not have clashes. The great thing about Premiere is that Adobe cloud is really easy to set up, and obviously you can get the latest...

    Thoughts on Hackintosh?

Honestly, in my significant experience in this, unless building to a REALLY specific set of components that have been regularly tested. This also caught my eye: I have a suspicion that you're not going to like Hackintosh's if troubleshooting isn't a passion. Honestly, I don't understand the...

Help me to fix this snare tone please!

If you've recorded it already I'm afraid sample reinforcement may be the only saving grace. Fix the overtones you don't like, smash it and then solve the tonal holes with sample reinforcement

Amp simulation? Or Budget Amp setup?

POD is kinda eh, and the eleven rack is pretty trash to be perfectly honest. I'd get a decent overdrive, save your money and look at something a little more of an investment like the new Line 6 Helix LT or something

    Question about Pro recording

It was supposed to be out in Spring of 2017, so we're past planned due date, which probably means soon unless there's major issues. For Drum programming do you mean something already programmed? Because Superior comes with a whole bunch of MIDI grooves.

    Question about Pro recording

Cubase is great, but honestly I'd recommend Presonus' Studio One. Much easier to pick up, and definitely aimed at Musicians not audio guys, while still having the tools for Audio guys. I'd agree with ZombieLloyd that the Mercuriall U530 is pretty awesome. However, the Line 6 Helix amp sim...

    bulb - ark one

I'd say at least 1 level above n00b. It's a sick sounding set of samples. I mean the Choirs leave something to be desired, but I haven't heard a library that hasn't yet. That price for the whole thing too is pretty neat. *adds to the list of things to try*

    bulb - ark one

Yea man! Sick! That Col Legno section took me to a real Sci-Fi/Fantasy moment that made me smile! I think it's safe to officially call you a Master of sampled string Libraries. What's the blend on this one? Spitfire/VSL? Now someone just needs a way to make sampled choirs sound realistic...

    Looking for budget overhead mic

At $150 CAD no matter what you do you're in the budget end of things. Honestly I'd get some workhorse cheapo Small Diaphragm Condensers until you can afford something better. At least get some stereo image happening.
