Got an bit of bargain on a Engl Fireball (£450 in decent condition) so I'm note looking for a 5150. Had totally forgotten about this post so hadn't posted a reply.
Recently bought an Engl Fireball and was intending to run a dual amp setup but have decided that I'd rather have a rack fx setup and use the Engl which suits my current taste in music better. Here are the pictures of the amp http://the-guitar.com/marshall/dsl_front.jpg...
I agree with John the great tone the Fireball can produced (brutal as hell). I joined the owners club this weekend and was floored by how good the clean tone is, especially with a shared EQ. Thinking that I don't really need my DSL as well as the Engl, if I can find a pedal that'll give me...
Yeah, I understand that. Main reason for putting that I was after either version was due to availability and the fact that they aren't drastically different (please let me know if I'm talking bollocks).
I'm after a either a Peavey 5150 or 6505 in the head or combo format, must be in good condition. Would like to collect the amp so within 50ish miles of Manchester would be preferred, although I'm not against having a head version shipped. If anyone knows any where else it may be worth...
I have a fascination with _any_ old 5150 head, but I'd sure yours is very nice. I'm hoping the Bugera 6260 I just contacted the company about is like other Behringer products and a good rip off of the 5150 so I can run one in a dual amp setup with my DSL
Most computer component places will stock it such as this lot. They run off 12volts so you should be able to find a supply somewhere in the amp. The problem you'll probably find is with the inverters in the lighting kit will add a hum to you amp. The other option would be led lighting bars...
Got a reply from Tim "The best way to get the neck tone you're after is to go for a Nailbomb7 and run it in parallel-this'll give you a great single coil style tone that'll still balance to the bridge." I can understand that, considering how much output the ceramic warpig has means...
I've decided I really need to change the stock pickups in my S7320. I'm going for Bare Knuckle pickups and I'm pretty much sold on a ceramic warpig for the bridge (hopefully with hex bolts) but its the neck pickup that's troubling me. One of my favorite 6 strings I have is a RG565 with a...
