Myth. Fender's "bakelite" Strat parts were polystyrene.

Old logo is the way to go. The new EMG logo looks like ass.

ESP USA horizon III slab body with bevels. Looks cool apart from the stupid ass burst following the forearm contour like they're hiding a beveled off veneer. Why tf would anyone ever do that on a solid ash body?

    NGD: 1999 Ibanez RG7620

This is what Ibanez needs to be making again just a plane Jain working horse RG with a LoPro Edge and solid finishes.

    Jackson/Charvel/EVH 2024

Exactly. I mean I can understand the slinkier feel of the shorter scale but you have to have stick fingers to shred on it. I can't imagine a 24.75" scale guitar with something crazy like 27 frets. You can't even fit your fingers there. A 27" scale gives me the perfect space for playing high up...

If it had a reverse headstock and a Floyd it'd be right up my cup of tea.

If you are in the European Union you can get a replacement Edge Pro 7 from meinl in Germany. They have tons of replacement Ibanez parts.

Tremolo deadlock - how to lock a trem in style

Does anyone know the cavity dimensions for the RG1527 with Edge Pro 7? Isn't the spring cavity the same size as the 6? My cousin wants one of these but he's on the road for another month and his 1527 is at his house.

For those who seek out rare/specific guitars: how much mods are too many?

Yeah the OG Edge and LoPro are a huge part of the reason for buying Ibanez in the first place. If I came across a 7620 with a FR or Gotoh 1996 or whatever, I would definitely be asking about the original trem or knocking the price down to cover buying another.

For those who seek out rare/specific guitars: how much mods are too many?

Depends on the guitar and price. I've had a beat to shit 90s RG7421BK with an empty neck pickup cavity, just a volume pot with the other control holes empty, and a metal square jack plate with regular jack in place of the barrel jack. I was fine with it because it was like 170$ and I just played...

I regret getting rid of my two RG7620BKs. And my RG220BGN. And my RGT42FMDR. And my RGT42BP. And my RG5EX1. And my RGR1570SDB. And My RG2550ZGK. And my RG7421BK. I didn't really gel with the RG2228GK though so I don't miss it. I liked the 27" scale if it would have been a 7 but that's just too...

Jesus. People who don't have the common sense to protect and preserve the hard case with some kind of covering just don't deserve to have nice guitars.

    Mick Thompson with ESP now?

He probably is skipped ahead of normal humans. But he's still got to wait for them to finish up with the backlog of Kirk's custom graphic guitars, James' camouflage hunting guitars and replicas of his other brand guitars, and the same SC model over and over in every color of paint that becomes...

    Weird ringing noise on RG5320

That's an awesome looking top. Why the fuck couldn't they paint the back the same color?? Or at least black?

Has anyone gotten a chance to read the James Hetfield book "Messengers"?

I'll have to find it again but I definitely read about it in the past few months.

Does anyone know of routing specs for an Ibanez Tight End R?

Yeah I would just send the bridge to the builder it's the safest option for no mistakes or misinterpretations.
