These pedals don't seem to have a setting to do some low and hi cuts. Do they just sound good at any volume level without adjuments through monitors for practicing and pa speakers? I'm looking to get one of them. Maybe a used amplifier firebox for 99 dollars.

Has anyone tried like a friedman pedal or anything infront of a roland cube amp? Or boost the classic stack?

I lowered the pickups and it improved the sound. I usually keep the pickups close to the strings but by lowering this one, that thin sound and some mud was removed.

Ok thanks just wondering if it will affect anything. Because I'm not liking the distorted tones.

I've seen videos of players like pretucci sometimes having the reverb effect engage when showing some riffs and just recently I noticed kiko does it too.

How's the reliability? I'm thinking of ordering a micro series or one of their two channel amps that's on sale on musiciansfriend.

TedEH, I haven't tried your advise but this is weird, I panned my guitar sims to the left speaker, which most of the time my head is facing a little to look at the fretboard and it helped bit. I can hear what I'm playing with better detail. it seems that listening to the speakers left and right...

I think its the interface and computer all together. I plugged my solid state amps to the outlets and no problem. It's a bummer that my amps sound better to me, like a blanket was removed. And the palm mutes sound chunky, can't get that with plugins.

I don't think a hate it, it's just needed more gain but did sounded different. I'll try a 57 first, if I don't like it I'll get a black winter and Duncan distortion to try them. but I'll need to learn how to solder first. So is the 57 hotter than the 81? some people say it a noisy pickup?

Classic rock and metal. But for classic metal, I like to tune to Eb, it sounds better to me. For late 90s and early 2000s stuff, I like progressive metal, nu metal and metal core. I need to think about what tunning I'll keep this guitar in.

Should EMG release a new 81 with more output? I would like that.

I installed an emg 81 and I tried 3 guitars at a local store with emgs and find them to have less ouput than guitars with high output passive pickups. What work was using a boost and raise the gain on the amp. Or im doing something wrong?
