I have an Apogee One. I picked that up because I used to travel all the time and needed/wanted something extremely small and portable. I could throw this in with my laptop and I'm done, record anywhere since it's bus powered. The built in condensor mic would seem like it would be crap, but it...
You are right, it goes both ways and all sides abuse it. Didn't mean to imply that anyone has a corner on that market. My point was more about the abuse of the criminal justice system to push it further when there was no evidence to support it. Or at least that was my intended point.
I guess I'd like someone to explain to me how race is even a part of the discussion..not the discussion in this thread here, but nationally, relative to this case. GZ could have been the Grand Wizard of the KKK and still not been convicted based on the case presented by the prosecution...
Recording acoustic guitars is an art form, with no rules for how to do it...depends on what you're after. You can do it just as you would any electric guitar DI recording. Experiment to see what you get. You'll likely want to warm it up with a mic pre-amp or a pre-amp model. To get a natural...
I really dig this as well. There are some great, tasty tones in there, old school tones and that's a good thing. I do find some timing issues, and that's why maybe the bass doesn't feel locked in. Part of it could be the delays on the guitars, if the main impulse is off the beat slightly...
That's a pretty big scale length spread...make sure you are happy with that before you commit. I'm with the other cat, while you can tell a difference, I usually think woods don't matter all that much and you can use pickup selection to fix any frequency issues you may think are being...
Not on your list, but the Apogee stuff is really solid as well. I needed something super small and portable and picked up an Apogee ONE and it's been great. Can do instrument or mic inputs and it has a built-in condenser mic that is extremely good. Their larger interfaces get a little pricey...
Great input from all. I didn't see it mentioned how much gain you're using, but depending on the volume you play, lessening the gain may be worth an experiment. I tend to find that really tight heavy tones sit better with less gain, not more. It might not sound like it solo, but in the mix it...
Years and years ago, I did the same thing...downsized from 4x12 to two 2x12, both boogie recto cabs. To be honest, I hardly ever took them both anywhere, one was always enough. And even then, the 2x12 is still a bitch to carry and haul around...they are really heavy as far as 2x12s go. Great...
Gotta say wow to that effort. So far I've made it through the first 4 minutes or so and had to pause to comment. I like the mood it evokes, very Pink Floyd-esque, and in a good way. As it is, I like it very much, but you asked for some critique so if I were to recommend/critique any of it...
Hey everyone, New to the site, but I'm a long time Jemsite fella and web pals with Drew over here so I'd thought I'd pop in to see what's going on. Name: Brad Town: St. Louis Guitars: UVMC custom (just bought it), JC 1608AM, Strat, Collings OM2H, Taylor 714ce Band: WOS I've owned a...
