Why does that legal copy read like a Reddit comment? Maybe I'm crazy but all I could imagine was the freshest junior associate drafting up that letter with that language.
I once asked Jeff about 27 frets and he more or less said they were stupid and he hates them
Of course he said the same about multiscale trems before too
I have my preferences but at the end of the day they are details and don't matter all that much. Very few guitar specs are far enough out of my comfort zone to actually hinder my playing.
I do this all the time at rehearsal spaces and venues here, since it seems like every single one has a JCM 800 laying around to be used. It sounds awesome though, and a ton of fun especially since real amps are just too impractical for home.
Never said otherwise bro. I just find it weird to dig things up that happened ages ago, especially when there are more recent and relevant criticisms that could be pulled instead.
This happened years ago, Jeff put out an apology also years ago, and he does live Q&A videos almost every week so he's definitely not avoiding the camera and has been relatively drama free in recent memory, although I don't follow very closely.
I'm completely indifferent about Jeff, neither a...
Man these guitars are so nice. I love my Kotetsu. I don't bother with the whole capo schtick but I keep mine in F# and it sounds amazing. I also loved it in B with just a standard 10-46 set. The low end is so tight with this scale length.
I saw this thread and remembered the great support I got from Guitarmory, but checking my message history it was Elysian who took care of things for me so I guess it all checks out
They're quite rare I think. I was lucky and a local dealer had one listed online. The last time I saw a new one in a shop was 4-5 years ago but one will pop up on the used market every few months or so.
If you can find a way to get one used shipped out of Japan, I picked up one of these the other day: https://sago-nmg.com/guitarbass/kotetsu/
33" scale length, plays like a dream, regular string sets are just long enough to be compatible. ~600 GBP brand new, but I've seen some on the used market...
Having spent 20+ years of my life online my first reaction to chat logs as proof is palpable skepticism, but the statement from DW is at the very least absolutely tone deaf. Hard to imagine what motivation there could possibly be to fake these allegations, there can't be much clout to gain from...
I've also had Claro Walnut in mind for like the last 4 years 😃 But yeah it never fit any actual build I had in mind. Maybe the next one... that bass looks crazy nice.
I've basically never listened to Slipknot in my life but I went to the show on Saturday and that guitar was pretty damn cool. I had no idea it was new.
