    RG7620 (floyd rose/edge expets needed!)

The black box one is available here.. www_rockinger_com/index.html?lang=ENG&cat=WG07 It looks very similiar to the backstop. Much smaller than a tremstopper and a lot cheaper.

    MIDI compatible for 7 String?

The midi converter does convert audio - to - midi. The system works by having a seperate pickup per string. Either the under bridge piezo things like Graphtech or a six-tiny humbuckers stuck together like the roland gk-2a. The six seperate signals run through a 13 pin cable to the midi...

Samplers: Halion 3 vs. Kontakt 2

Kontakt 2 all the way. The interface is heaps better, the libraries are more usefull, the imports are nicer and the macros are cool if you are a geek. The only thing I don't like about Kontakt is a bank of patches uses loads of cpu and ram when it doesn't need to. I have a midi pickup (on my...

Looking for advice on a small usb or firewire mixer

For the mackie, get the firewire. The USB one has to mix everything down to two traks before it goes into the puter. The firewire lets you stick each channel on a seperate track.

    Wiring Help(Universe Pickup Switch VLX53)

This is the wiring I'd go with... www_ibanez.com/wiring/wire.asp?y=2004&w=RGT2020 It's kinda like a les paul but with series/parallel options too.

    New tone discovery!!!!!

My 6 is a Ibanez PGM model (volume only) so I can understand where you are all coming from. If you wire a switch to bypass the tone knob, there will NOT be any colouration from the extra wiring in the loop. The tone control pot and cap should be shorted to ground when bypassed, so the only...

    Favorite Trem Config?

Thanks for the reply Kevan. After the fun I've had with double sided tape and roland hexaphonic pickups I think I'll steer clear of the trem-stop. I had the impression that much more room would be needed to get at the the thumb screws but those templates make it look quite neat. Now I see...

    Favorite Trem Config?

It seems every one here (and jemsite) is crazy for the Tremol-no. I don't like the way you have pull the plate of the back of the guitar to switch it one or off. I was looking at another altenative that screws into the front of the guitar and the trem arm clips into it to stop the trem moving...

    Wes Borland

On the piezo thing, I'm looking at adding some to my seven. I've done a bit of research and found that you can glue them the the block of the floyd. You can get raw piezo's from most electronics store out of old alarm buzzers. I'm building a buffer circuit similiar to the one at till...

hi all, Been playing 15 years, metal, jazz, pop and anything else really. Just bought a seven string. It's a Washburn 587v made in korea. I'm loving the extra string. It's also the first floyd equiped guitar I've had and so I'm dive bombing my heart out. I had to rewire the whole...

    Drumming

If you have a midi keyboard, try playing your drum patterns on that. You can do it in two passes if you can't do the hi-hat and bass patterns at the same time. If find actually playing in patterns sound much more lively than programmed ones. You can also record it at a lower tempo if you...
