maybe silly but I was wondering if would be possible to refret an intrepid 8 string only for top 6 strings and leave the bottom 2 strings fretless -? thx proto
I have an 830 as well, you might try a single elixer on the lowest string. It stays pretty snappy for quite awhile longer other brands. I ordered some bkp emeralds from Nick at axepalace - I'll let you know how turns out
which alumitone will fit my an 828? i'm looking at replacing my cepheus with either alumitones or waiting for the 8 string dimarzio deactivators to come out. -- going for some warm jazz/clean tones
im looking at the roland cube 80xl - i'm wondering if the amp can handle the lower strings - also does anybody here use or can recommend a good parametric eq?
Thx T - Gtr had a pro setup with elixer lights and an .80 and .60 elixer bass on the low two strings about 1 month ago, all the other strings are good intonation wise, its just the bottom string is drifting. any intrepid elixer bass string users out there? how long do these last on the low strings
hey - my intrepid lowest string <tuned to low e> intonates pretty close when i take the intonation screw out an let the saddle come all the way forward, but its alittle sharp now and my screw isnt long enough to thread in - thinking ill buy a longer screw - anybody know the screw size? thx...
thanks urklvt! - i'll look into the atomic. i have an x3live but still looking for something more simple - thought about getting a bass or keyboard amp and trying to eq it somehow
Hey maybe not the right place for this - but i'm trying to play more jazz stuff with my intrepid 8 tuned eaeadgbe and was wondering recommendations for amps that dont flub out so much. right now im using a polytone minibrute. thx proto
i tune my interceptor 28.625 to eaeadgbe - at first i used ghs .080 and .060 on the lowest strings, but man the low e string gets really dull quickly. i switched to elixer bass strings .080 and .060 singles from juststrings.com and the low e string is snappy and clear.
Hey, I'm trying out guages for my agile pro 828 tuned eaeadgbe - basically a daddario super light set - .009 - .011 - .016 - .024 - .032 - .042 - then i'm thinking a .60 or .65 for the low A string and an .80 for the low E. workable? or is this unbalanced/too light on top strings?
Hi Which would be better for clean tones, and jazz but also some rock stuff. I heard that the 830 is awesome low end but it's quite thin sounding in the upper register. is the thin higher register correctable with better pickups? thx proto
