Yeah it only took a few years (I'm not counting the 2 years of lockdowns), but I've finally got my second solo album coming out this year.
First single 'Kindred Spirits' out now on all streaming platforms.
There will be two more single releases until full album drops on April 5th.
It's nothing new as far as post Slayer is concerned, but I don't mind it. I do like that he got Mark Osegueda and Phil Demmel in the lineup, both are monster musicians.
I wasn't really expecting to get a new guitar aside from a 12 string acoustic that I've been putting off forever. But an RG7CSD1 isn't something that comes around often, especially my neck of the woods. So I nabbed it immediately, gave it to the tech for a refurbish, set up to Drop A, and here...

That mocha heirloom finish does look awesome. Who's got 24 karat treasures to burn on a limited edition?

Looks like it's finally happened. Espcially since the plugin controller that came out a few years ago felt like a tease.
Amazing collection. I loved that he's indiscriminate towards the different brands, be it custom, signature or even available imports, he's happy to play them all, and play them damn well.
For those interested, the studio I frequent have been busy with a few clients. The son of one of the studio managers just happens to be in a band called Icky Sitch so we ended up recording their debut album 'Mrs Daisy's Sweet And Savoury'. Not sure if they formed pre or post Melbourne...
After buying an old Ibanez 2402 doubleneck guitar, I said to myself that I fully intended to write a piece of music with it. That was 2 years ago. Vai releasing Teeth of the Hydra only just fueled my resolve. It took some time, but I got something out of it.
And a crappy clip of myself...
Now my second solo album is finally entering the mixing stages of post production, I still needed to do some last minute re-effecting, so a session was booked on the weekend. The day before I ended up getting one more extra pedal because reasons.
The SoloDallas Schaffer Replica is...
Probably not something I ought to promote in a guitar oriented forum, let alone a metal oriented one , but hey, it's another feather in the cap, and after 2 years of quarantines and lockdowns, I'm finally back on the 'release an album a year' schedule.
As the backstory goes, my co producer...
First the intended:
After getting the Free The Tone Cosmic Wave, I thought getting a backup "small" delay was on the cards and the Keeley Halo was already on my radar. One of the guys in the studio I frequent often exchange gear with me to loan for projects, in his case he was planning to tour...
Not the first time I've done this sort of thing, but it seems to be one of my recurring pass time activities. And since April 1st is the anniversary of my first solo album, my way of celebrating and pulling an April Fools prank is to remix a song off it.
Original song:

This was actually tough. I was asked by my co producer to write a 30 second piece that showcases a multitude of instruments, so I sent him a demo then he asked for a 1 minute version. It was actually hard enough to write something musically dense whilst trying to keep it as short as possible...
Quick backstory:
My label not only covers music but film/media as well, being heavily involved with a few podcasts. The guy on the film side of the label has already been using my music but eventually ran out and started using free stock songs, to which I replied 'How about I just write some...
