Alright, got an answer from Line6. Next to the cable input for the mic there is a "trim" knob which more or less is a level/volume knob for the mic. I had never heard "trim" before so I didn't even think of messing with it. All better now!

FIXED IT In case anyone else has this issue, the program defaults with the "blend" button turned off. It is by the metronome and it looks like a W. Click that, crisis averted.
