I never leave my decimator on, but i've owned it for roughly a week and gone through almost 2 9v batteries.... is this normal for this pedal? granted, the week was filled with plenty of playing, but it seems like even once i threw in a new battery the other day, after.. probably 5 hours of...

Actually I do believe it was the battery. Since I got it from Guitar Center, my friend inquired about it maybe being the battery because gear at the local GC seems to sit for a long time. I slapped a new Energizer 9V and it was good to go. Thanks.

I picked a ISP decimator two days ago and when I went to play today there was a noise that made my guitar sound as dull as if my amp was down the hallway under a blanket. At first I thought it was a cable problem, but through testing all available cables, the decimator seems to be the culprit.

I ordered a 14 inch one today on eBay, cause I need a china and figured I'd try it. Any thoughts?

so, I know a noisegate or a compressor would be helpful, but i don't know which is more important (which to prioritize as far as trying to get it) and what brand/model of either i should go for.... thoughts?

thanks for the tips guys! i just got some money to take it to a tech and have it set up(which it needs haha) so if i don't get ripped off, i should have some money for stainless steel screws. they cant cost that much :P if nothing else i think i'll try WD 40. :lol: i don't wanna have it fixed...

I hate admitting it but I'm probably to blame. I'm almost 17 so I got it around age 11-12 iirc.. I should have been more mature about owning such a guitar. :( *sigh*

It's kinda bad rust :( Hmm... I've had it for... 4.5-5ish years? I'm not sure. I coulda taken better care of cleaning it to be honest, but a couple years ago I realized I should treat it more like gold lol. Other than the rust it's in very very good condition. This is why it pisses me off so...

Yeah, my explorer is relatively new. I don't mind the pickups in it, and I'm not lazy about tuning, so either option would work really. I'm just wanting some outside views. Thanks though. How much do you think it'd run to have either of those options installed by a tech or whatever?
