Hey guys, I received my Axe-FX II a month ago and finally got around recording something I like with it. Any constructive feedback, especially regarding the tones, is greatly appreciated! Here is the soundcloud URLfor the same project, although I changed a few things while doing the...
Hi, I did put a few video of me playing through the POD HD500. I wouldn't say they are perfect, but I wouldn't call them fizzy. Anyway, here is a link to one of my videos. Edit: By the way, I tweak my presets using meambobo's techniques straight from his guide. Props to you man!
There are some quite badass entry to this competition! Anyway, here is mine, hope you like it! Basically, It's my Carvin Dc727 into my Pod HD500, Slo Lead, boosted with an analog delay.
Yeah, since early productions, this project went a long way. I'm proud to have recorded the bass on this album and really happy to hear the end result!
Just got myself a mahogany bodied Carvin DC727. The sound is nice and clear, but you probably will need to dial in a bit more mids than usual. nothing wrong with that IMO as it still remains clean and punchy.
Your tone sounds out of phase and a bit thin. This might be due to the complexity of your setup. I'd say try out a simpler setup first (only POD hd thru IR or only plugins). you can get great tones right from an HD500, so complicating the chain is likely unnescessary. But keep on tweaking...
Thanks guys! Right now the guitar don't buzz, i've slightly raised the action. i'll just wait ad see. Regarding pickups, I have a crunch lab that i can play with just to see how much trouble it would be. i'll have a look at that soon enough. Might start a new thread if I find an easy way to mod...
At first I thought the DC700 were active P.U only. But in the end, my mind was set on rounded edges Thanks everybody! And regarding the pickup issues, i though about making a 2 to one screw adaptor, and gllue/screw it on the aftermarket pickups. Thoughts on this plan?
Well, yours has a discontinued finish, wich add a coolness factor to it! But thanks, I really dig the way it came out, I,m still unsure wether I prefer satin or gloss finish over that green. I've got both anyway
Thank you for your very complete answer. I guess it's too bad for the pickups, I probably just won't change them considering I hate to do irreversible operations on guitars, especially expensive ones.
Hey there guys, yesterday I received my very first Carvin 7 string. The guitar looks incredible. Now, i've got two concerns. first, I have some string buzz (but not that much). I assume this may be due to temperature changes between California and Quebec (east of Canada). Am I correct? I guess...
An easy way to find out is to take the lower wattage seaker on the cab and multiply it by the number of speakers. I.E: you have two V30 (30w speaker) and two V60(60 w) in your 4x12 cab. The total wattage of your cab will be 120 watts, not 180. edit: i misread the question. sorry, dumb post. I...
I'm not into this "buy just for buying" thing at all, when i don't GAS for anything, i try to save up a bit for the next time i'll want comething new. But anyway, have you thought about a different guitar, like a kramer/charvel, a telecaster, an epiphone black hawk, a Gretsch hollowbody or...
i liked the second one better too. Hi hat was way to bright/piercing on both track. You might want to remove a bit of the "clickyness" on the kick too. Your guitar tone was cool though. what amp model did you use?
