By my count, currently, Ibanez has 4 mahogany 7s in production now, and 2 basswood 7s. Apex 1 & 2, and S7320 as well as the Xiphos are mahogany, and the 1527 and 7321 are basswood. But, to be fair, I DO prefer mahogany. I'm just happy that options are starting to appear as far as Ibanez goes...

They're both good guitars, although I prefer the K7. That said, if both are in the same price range, go with the K7. K7 will certainly have better build quality, and by default feel more "high end". :metal:

Actually, I kinda believe this. I found what appeared to be polishing compound buildup (on a satin/cracked finish? WTF?) in the input jack recess. How did I find it, you ask? I plugged in to tune her up, grazed the inside with the plug tip and presto! Instant fucking paint removal :squint:. So...

Basically it's a K7 in different clothing. The only difference between the two necks is the volute (sp?) at the headstock. This has the Edge Pro 7 as opposed to the Lo Pro also.

Considering that I paid basically retail for a guitar that is completely inspected, set up, has had the O.G. locking studs installed, and shipping included then yeah, its well worth it. Quality from the factory is damn good (on mine at least). Dare I say that it'll give some of the PRSs' I deal...
