Is it possible to get gold hardware to install on this? Because this is the first strat shape guitar I really really dig. But I would like the gold on there.
I used to have an army of Floyd guitars, all set with and OFR and those suckers were top notch all around. I just wasn't sure if blocking it made the Lic a more realistic option. It seems like I should just do the right thing for the project and not skip on building materials
Awesome. Sounds like I can save myself a couple bucks then. Since we are talking about it, what's the deal with the Floyd 1000 or whatever they are using now. Is that just a renamed Lic?
So I picked up a guitar and I plan on doing a nifty project with it. My question is, if I plan on installing a tremel-no trem blocker, does it really matter if I use an original or a licensed Floyd? Any help woud be appreciated
I think the ic7 was a great idea just not the best time. Everyone was on the heals of the meshuggah ic8 so seeing a 7 was kinda disheartening. Plus, in my opinion, there is more than enough available data on this forum alone to prove that say a 27" 7 string is more appealing than a 25.5 just...
Am I the only person who was hoping for more shapes in the 8 string department as well as more baritone guitars? I know they are releasing one, at 28" for some reason, but as a guy plays baritones almost exclusively and hated super strats, NAMM basically hurts my soul every year. Am I alone in this?
The V... The warlock... The non strat shapes.... I need a mop and new pants... Now if some one would do like an explorer or and iceman or maybe a stoneman I can refinance my house and live in poverty with all of them
The neck pocket was modified to fit the 8 string heal, and the original holes in the body where used to a new set of holes in the neck. Not much of a difference in the two but enough that it needed done to be right
It's a Perle 7 string that my tech went to work modding to fit the 8 string accents. And after it was all done, yes I basically bought a neck and bridge. Luckily the body won't be going to waste. The pickups are going in the trash however. I spent the better part of my night with this beast and...
I actually didn't even think to use the hipshot bridge until the process had begun. I already kicked myself for that one. However, with a properly measured scale length and a good set up, this thing itonates dead on with room to move and the action is crazy on it.
I'm glad you guys like it as much as I do. As for the only question asked thus far, I had a new body made instead of trying to mess with altering the RG shape. Which means I have an rg8 body that has an interesting future as well. But that's a story for another thread
So this is a story about me getting my first 8 string. As I did with my first 7 string, I got the lowest priced Ibanez on the market, which is the now common place RG8. My local Guitar Center only had it in black, so black it was. Prior to my purchase, I had been lurking around here for a...
I'm still experimenting with my gauges, I had the D'Addario 10.5-48 set with a 60 and 74 for a while. I found them to be just a touch too loose for my taste. So I switch the low strings to 80 (with a drilled out tuner and string ferrule) and a 62. I'm waiting on the 11-49 set to arrive in the...
This thread is filling me with all dem feels. What was I thinking haha. I'm glad I haven't sold either of my 8s though. I fought through the learning curve and can't imagine not having them now. But man do I miss the army of fallen guitars I've sold over the years. And that intrepid is amazing...
