Agreed. The tricky part is getting a good "scoop" from behind the neck to the headstock. Making MDF templates for the fingerboard taper and headstock is always a good idea. You can buy the fingerboards pre slotted from LMII or stewmac. Just line them up with the neck and use locating pins...

Hello 8 string guitarists, I am planning on doing an 8 string build here shortly and I would like to get the neck taper correct. What would a normal nut width/last fret width be on an 8 string? If anybody can help, that would be fantastic. Thank you very much. -Tim

Awesome. Thanks for the input, guys. The korina one is my favorite as well. I think I may try a contoured heel for the next couple. Perhaps 24 frets as well for the shred guys, if it doesn't mess with the classic vibe too much.
