That finish looks kinda delicious . The more I look at it the more i like it.

Those trapezoid tailpieces on these old goldtops makes me smile every time I see them. Imagine some mistake like this would happen to a guitar company nowadays. They would have to face a giant shitstorm. Good thing there was no internet back then... ;)

Thanks a lot for all the positive feedback guys. :hbang: Ok, i´d call it personal preference ;). What works for one player may not work for another. Personally I like both, swamp ash and basswood. A third body wood that I really like is korina. In my opinion something like THE PERFECT...

Wow looks great, especially if it´s your first build. Really like that body shape.

I´m not a friend of inlays generally. Centered dot inlays look just meh in my opinion. Maybe they remind me too much of entry level guitars. Huge inlays that cover almost the entire fretboard just kills it.

As promised a pic of the back I know basswood may not be the prettiest wood, but it´s about the sound not the look. Compared to my other Regius 7 which consists of an Wenge-Mahogany-Padouk Neck and a swamp ash body this one sounds way fuller, bigger and more balanced.

The back is finished with satin clear coat. I´ll post a pic tomorrow.

Looks really good. :agreed: OK, I'm normally not a big fan of that body shape and the thickness of the neck scares me a bit. But somehow I think Roter could be the right guys for my custom build.

I had a chance to try one a few years ago. It´s a good sounding and very playable guitar :agreed: but the pickup configuration isn´t my cup of tea.
