What make is the pickup? different manufacturers use different colours for hot wires etc. If its a Seymour duncan use this diagram:Wiring Diagram Although on the picture you posted its looks as though the red is the hot wire, green and white get soldered together and taped off so they dont...

I use 11-49 and a 64 for the low A Although if he likes a lighter feel he might be better going for 10-46 and a 59 or 60 as aeronaut said.

Thats where the string tree always is, the truss rod cover is missing thats why there are three holes.

I was at that show, although it was a few years ago now. The energy they put into their set was amazing! hes a great player!

Adjusting the truss rod will only affect approx frets 4-10. If the action is too high from fret 12 on up you will need to lower the bridge. If it starts to buzz on 1-4 it may need a slight shim under the nut. When thats all sorted you can adjust the truss rod to set the in between frets...

Make sure you have a wire running from the back of one of the pots to under the bridge sounds like you might have forgotton it on re-assembly?
