Voodo Lab Control Switcher ? Problem Solver ?

The G-major has a built in switcher so all you need to control your amp is a stereo cable running from the switch out jack on the G-major to the foot switch jack on the amp. You then push the Levels all/Relay 1+2 button to the right of the display and edit the settings for relay 1 to control the...

    Agile Septor 828 question.

It's got the passive Cepheus pickups, right? If so you'll need to expand the corners of the pickup cavities to make the EMGs fit.

If you could take lessons from any musician who would it be?

Vai, Danny Elfman and Mattias Eklundh. I picked those three because of their strange ideas and unique ways to think about music. I'm not really interested in anyone teaching me how to become the fastest guitarist or whatever, I'm way more interested in developing the way I approach music.

Tuning my 27" 7 string to G# - string gauge suggestions?

The 60 in A and the 64 in G# both have the same tension, 15.2 pounds for the 60 and 15.26 pounds for the 64 according to this: String Guage and Tension Calculator - Version 0.1.4 - 26 apr 1998 Dropping a 64 to F# gives 12.1 pounds and you need to go up to a 72 for comparable tension to the 60/64.

    Huge dilemma............

I've been drooling over the purple one ever since I first saw it. If only I had the money and it had a longer scale length and a Kahler...

    Make this stop!!

In that case, have a look at B-Band pickups: B-Band Ltd - Acoustic Guitar Pickups, Drum Pickups and Double Bass Pickups . They sound a lot better than piezos.

    The Official Agile ERG Thread

It depends on your definition of "make" really. The guitars are made by an independent manufacturer in south-east Asia, I forget the country at the moment, but they're made to Rondo's specs. Also, as far as I know, the only way to get them is through Rondo.

    Fanned neck??

It means that the frets are laid out in a fan shape so that the distances between the frets are different on the bass and treble side of the neck. An example would be to use 24.75" scale length for the treble side to allow for easy bending and a somewhat smoother tone while using 27" for the...

The "best" neck construction for a fanned 8 string?

There are other aspects to consider besides tone as well. If you play out a lot a bolt on is a good insurance to have since if the neck breaks it's fairly simple to get a new one while with a set neck or through neck you'll be looking at replacing the entire instrument. If you don't gig as much...

    New (mad) concept build

How about beefing up the bars to mount the pickup and extending them between the neck and bridge? You lose a bit of the elegance of your concept, sure, but you gain stability and possibly a little sonic versatility since you'll be able to slide the pickup all the way from the bridge to the neck.

    Reverb, Lend me your Knowledge

I'd say it's pretty much useless for recording. The reason is that whatever studio you come to will most likely have a better quality reverb than you'll be able to get in a pedal. Also, if you use too much and it doesn't work in the mix you're pretty much screwed, it's way better to leave the...

Can you connect a 3 core cable to a phono jack?

You'll have to either replace the original cable or find an appropriate extension cable. The important thing is that the new cable has 3 conductors since, as you've noticed, it won't work otherwise.

Multiple tunings and switching between them?

I have three guitars that I actually use, one in open G, one D and a standard six string. I don't have any problems switching between them anymore but it was confusing in the beginning. Then again, I use the open tunings for slide playing mostly so I pick up those guitars with different...

Schecter C-8 ATX or Agile Interceptor Pro?

I'd say Agile but then again, I'm the biggest Kahler fan-boi ever. If the fretwork's crap I guess you're screwed but if your guitar is broken when it arrives, the headstock broken off or something, it's not a warranty issue, it's the shipping company's responsibility to sort it out.

So i'm mixing and producing a CD....

If you haven't recorded real drums before it might be a good idea to get someone else to mic it. It's all too easy to mess things up if you're mixing mics for the individual drums with overheads and room mics. You can get all sorts of weird phase problems if you don't know what you're doing...

    NGD: Interceptor Content

:agreed: About the arm for the tremolo you're right, it's the allen screw beside it taht controls arm tension. I don't remember exactly how it works, it's been a while since I adjusted a Kahler bridge but keep fiddling with it and you'll most likely find a good position for it.

    Planning a custom - advice

I've heard Sherman say in some other forum, can't remember where, that the multi-scale Kahler had a bit of a problem with the high strings. Since the saddles are so far from the cam/string hooks it's hard to get a high enough break angle over them. In that same thread he had an idea of recessing...
