Asking For Help - My Cousin's Contest

Hello folks, If any of you are feeling kind and generous, I could use your help. Actually my cousin Holly Ogilvie could. She is competing in a talent competition in Scotland, in hopes of wining some studio time, and a chance to play in front of a sizable crowd. If you would like to see...

NEW PERIPHERY/BULB SONG FROM THE UPCOMING PERIPHERY EP!! (Podxt, Dfhs, Toneport)

I am an old fart. Song is great until someone tries to barf out the lyrics. I am well aware most folks are big on this approach to vocals, but it makes me want to turn off the song at once. Production values are top notch, I think you have a bright future Bulb, your obvious talents are...

    Metal Master + 707

To expand a bit on DeL07... The 707 will give you a very large signal output. If you set it up with a single 9v battery it will be at least 30% "hotter" than a stock pickup on say, and Ibanez. In my experience, using a pair of 707s on an RG7, a distortion pedal may not do what you want...

Where To Get Mystic Dream Paint??

I have a BC Rich custom shop Bich that has this phase change / color change paint. What it was was PPG Harlequin, you can buy it at a high end auto paint store. It is very expensive and comes in pieces, the pigment and the adjunct and some other stuff. The paint for 1 guitar was about $300.00...

    Emg707 Output? vs. Dsonic7

Wow - My 707's output a huge amount of signal. As was mentioned a new battery might be in order. I don't have a D-Sonic to compare it to, but it puts the Blazes to shame. Same with the Duncan Invader (707 hotter).

    Finding Bandmembers sucks!!!!!

Finding people to play with, or even more important still to collaborate with, come up with music, perform and record is a huge challenge, being made even more challenging every day. First off, the rise of computers in music. I am a huge computer guy (it is what pays the bills these days)...

    Jackson Kelly 7

I know that Kellys have a reputation of being neck heavy, but (at least to me) this guitar does not seem un-workable. More neck heavy than say my RG7, but not to the point that it is unworkable.

    Jackson Kelly 7

Well, I have actually been enjoying this new guitar since Christmas! But I finally decided to snap a picture of it for all of you good folks. Yes, I snagged it from eBay, and I probably paid too much for it, but I really have wanted a Kelly 7 for a long long time, and now it's just as...

Are you guys diggin' the tones in the is mix? *Heavy 7-String riffs inside*

Indeed - please note (from original post): If you are going for "demo" track that proves what you are capable of, this is an outstanding piece of work. You should not feel bad in any way.

Are you guys diggin' the tones in the is mix? *Heavy 7-String riffs inside*

The guitar work on this track is very good, and that is a significant accomplishment. If you are looking for ways to improve the track, read the next paragraph, otherwise skip it. First off, would be great to know what kind of processing / mixing was done here. For starters you want to...

    F.S.:Jackson Kelly 7

I have a purple KE-7 with a reverse headstock - the pickups in these are fairly sad (IMHO), but I love the way mine plays. Plus I am a big fan of Kellys. Hopefully I can spring for some new coil work in a few months.

    The low f# powechord problem.

On the gain thing - folks already told you to back off if you are going to go low, let me toss in some technical of why. As you crank up the gain on a multi-stage amp (tube or solid state) the signal will start to distort. For almost everyone here (myself included) - that is "goodness"! A...

Ultra Mega Huge 2007 NAMM Photo Essay - Beware Dial Up!

I try to leave my guitars out so I am reminded not to gaff playing and let what chops I have decay. When they are in the closet it is easy to just say "I will do it tomorrow" when you have a ton of chores to take care of can kits to wrangle off to bed. If its hanging there saying "come...

Ultra Mega Huge 2007 NAMM Photo Essay - Beware Dial Up!

Funny... I did not see Robert Fripp or Adrian Belew in frame, I must have missed it... To be honest, I don't know. The fellow working the booth seemed to get fairly nervous when I asked if I could take pictures, and I decided that it was best not to bother him further.

Ultra Mega Huge 2007 NAMM Photo Essay - Beware Dial Up!

I will be honest that I am probably the not most informed person when it comes to who is who in the industry and what their history is. I tend to spend a huge amount of time in any given week locked in a life or death struggle with my work. It is only recently that I have had enough free time...

You are probably right, but I could have sworn it said Road King. Either way the sound coming out of it was very nice indeed.
