Jp 70 sterling vs ibanez Iron Label 7 string vs esp ltd mh 417

I think the JP70 neck might be a little bit thinner technically than the Wizard necks. It is a very thin U shape. I posted a NGD a while back with pics. but I will upload a few here for you

What is the best 7 string guitar under us$800?

Sterling By Music Man JP70 is $629 US for the colored ones and $579 for the Stealth Black one from Guitar Center. Can't really go wrong with that. I have experience (and heard from many others) that the Iron Labels have really bad fretwork. Did work on an RG8 yesterday and it had horrendous...

New Legator Guitars Reflections Signature Model

Saw them live a while back and maybe I just don't get it, but they were boring. If I wanted to watch 30 minutes of guitar wankage I'd go to a Michael Angelo Batio clinic. Also I second the notion of these guitars looking cheap as hell. They look like those no-name 7 strings that float around on...

Jp 70 sterling vs ibanez Iron Label 7 string vs esp ltd mh 417

I own a JP 70. I really love it. The stock pickups are good for being stock but if any changes needed to be made to this guitar is would be those. I am setting up an Iron Label RG8 right now and the fretwork on it is HORRENDOUS. I don't know how that's acceptable. Some seriously sharp edges on...

I AM TORN. Help me get pups for my JP70

Thanks guys, I appreciate the feeback. I ended up ordering the Duncan Pegasus and Sentient. Sean Ashe (fellow SBMM endorser) and Aaron Marshall (Intervals) said they are on par with BKP's... so I had to pull the trigger on em.

I AM TORN. Help me get pups for my JP70

So I am looking to upgrade from the stock pickups in my Sterling By Music Man JP70. The stock ones are fairly decent so I am not in a huge rush. I have a budget of ~$200. So far I have been looking an the new Seymour Duncan Pegasus (bridge) and Sentient (Neck) because they are getting some...

    Need Help Finding a 7-string!!

I have the LTD in question from 1999 and it is awesome! Definitely happy with it for my first 7 string and after the upgrades I put in it it is a killer guitar. They pop up on Craigslist now and again, however I found my on the used GC website. Seen them as low as $175, got mine for $250.

What is better choice JP70 V/S Schecter c7 hellraiser fr

I stand by my claim of their necks being baseball bats. There isn't anything inherently wrong with that of course, if you prefer a large and round neck then they are right up your alley. But more often than not, most people find them sluggish to play on. Also the sanded finish on the back of the...

Highly praised guitars you dont like?

Everything Gibson. Ever. I loathe them. Also someone said ukuleles and I could not agree more.

What is better choice JP70 V/S Schecter c7 hellraiser fr

JP70 hands down. Unless you like a baseball bat with strings on it, then go for the schecter.

I played this guitar at NAMM and it was an absolutely effortless experience, congratulations on the phenomenal instrument!

Just scored a cheap RG1527Z! But...

Looking at that chip makes me feel incredibly anxious/uncomfortable. Saw that happen to an old friend's bass while he was playing and subsequently slam to the ground and add a ton more scratches/dents/chips... tldr; fix dat nonsense ;] That is however still a steal, congrats!

Taken mine through quite a few hours of band practice/rehearsal now and it holds up like a champ!

    Jeff Loomis's new custom paintjob.

I think that guitar might just be the complete opposite of everything I like about a guitar... WHERE DID WE GO WRONG?! but seriously, my god. the horror.

    My first 7. Which one?

I second this. My first 7 string was that exact guitar in what ESP claims is See Thru Black... however most days it looks brown but in the right light it looks almost like redwood. I got it for $250 from GC but I have seen them on craigslist for as low as $175. I put new pickups in it, and...

Six string player going to a seven, need Recommendations.

This all kind of depends on your price range. You can get a used ibby 7321 or 7320 for $250-$350 depending on how lucky you are. Or the slightly nicer version in the 7621/7620 for probably closer to $500. But if you are looking to buy new you really can't go wrong with the Sterling by Music Man...

    Best 7 string for $600 to $700

I agree with all of the above. It is the most comfortable shape.

    Best 7 string for $600 to $700

The neck is quite thin, with a fairly flat U shape. However it doesn't feel square. I think I have played an Ibby or two that had "thinner" necks overall. However I will say that this guitar, more than anything else, is just very comfortable to play. I practice at least 3 hours a day and with my...
