Played this at GC yesterday and the only reason I didnt walk out with it was because they only had the 1 floor model and it was ALREADY beat to hell. It was damn good! Better than most schecter and ibanez 8's and in my opinion the only "better" 8 was the 2228 and it wasn't a $1000 difference...
Yeah man exactly why I want to sell my 5150. My buddy used a v2 when his Mesa shit the bed and when he got it fixed he sold it and kept the v2 lol. I'm talkin to a few people about sellin it so I'll keep in touch.
When someone asks for my advice on setting up their equipment for a show because they sound like shit and then when suggest what they can do to sound better live, they ignore me and continue to sound like shit. i cant stand shit like that
I literally had almost the same dilemma not a month ago and i ended up going with the 5150 over the ultra plus. The 6505+ has an extra gain stage and its a little more high-middy while the 5150 is more low-mid oriented but its still a minimal differance and it has retarded amounts of gain for...
1. Suicide Silence- im a big fan since The Black Crown was released. It just suits me better than their old material. Its more groovy as opposed to chaotic noise. 2. After the Burial- I thought Rareform was the shit until they released In Dreams now i can barely listen to their old stuff...
I've never been really impressed with the Randall modular series. That being said I've never played one of the modded modules but ive heard those are pretty bitchin. I've played a few mesas ( dual and triple rec, mark 4 and 5 a nomad and an f100)and I've always found that the clock seems to move...
^ I agree, just try it. The worst thing that can happen is you dont like it and you dont buy it. and if you do like it you just made a damn good deal. So just make sure you crank it to get that tube saturation to really hear the true character of the amp.
Do you have anyway to borrow a cab? If so save for the fireball and use the borrowed cab. If not don't buy the amp yet just save. You won't regret it. A good cab can vastly Improve an amp while a bad cab can turn your sound to shit. My bandmate bought a 6505+ played it through his old ass ibanez...
Fuck it! Im keepin it!!:fawk: lol i might go with the pod and a metric ton of cables and also nothing beats seein that clean 5150 logo! haha i really dont know what the hell i was thinkin:nuts:
Thanks guys! And my 5150 is almost mint just one tiny nick smaller than a dime the guy I bought it from made when I was there picking it up >:O and regarding the pedals they definetly wouldn't be shitty but they wouldn't be super expensive either. I just want to get something a little different...
