Mods, feel free to shut this down if there is already a thread or if things get too rowdy.
Anyway, Modi's a fascist, the bastards not gonna go this time: we're looking at a coalition NDA government at best, and a brute majority bjp government at worst but unlikely.
Thoughts?
No? It... Sounds like a B? Because it's tuned to a B? I don't quite follow what you're trying to say, apologies
"More vibration= more tone" is right up there with "fishman pickups have lower latency" when it comes to stupid statements famous musicians make.
Having played significantly...
I'm very much a guitar-into-amp kinda guy (although my "amp" here is either my interface or some sort of modeler lol). The reason is that most boost pedals tend to tighten the lows while also shaving away the top end sparkle: a consequence of every fucking boost in existence being the bastard...
This is why you never meet your heroes.
Damn shame lol. He's an amazing once in a generation kinda player. Too bad he's a dick.
Side note: there's this interview of him floating around somewhere where he talks about how he's read a lot of Noam Chomsky and goes "duuuuuuude it's incredible...
I'd broadly agree with this: but my usecase is literally like...guitar > (optional) boost > amp > cab > like 3 effects AT MOST (usually just a delay for solos) and I'm done. I don't play live seriously and an HX stomp is just one of those "if I ever decide to do a gig or two for fun" kinda things.
Speaking of NDSP: There was this whole fiasco about input gain on your interface.
What IS the correct way to do it incidentally? I have my input gain turned all the way down (unity gain) only because I'm a clumsy fuck and I keep hitting all sorts of shit on my desk with my hands while reaching...
WOW this thread drove off a cliff
The MAIN issue I have with the AxeFX/QC is pricing. In a world where relatively inexpensive amp modelers are so terrifyingly good that you can't tell one from an actual amp in a mix, I'm....not about to put down 1.5-2K USD. A secondary issue is the...
I agree with the bulk of the points here
I do think there's such a thing as "too light" a gauge, like a 42 would not fly with me for....anything. For D standard I usually go D'Addario 11-49, drop C I go D'Addario 11-52, and drop B I use EB 11-54 (I might try D'Addario 12-60.
I tune down a lot...
....or am I just growing old
IDK man I've been having RIDICULOUS fun going from a 60 to 54 on low B. It's much tighter, but somehow chunkier? Like the bass weight is there but the sub-bass woofiness is gone.
And its SO much easier to play, this is probably just me being "I'm old now and I'm...
LMAO the hate comments are genuinely funny
Personally I kinda dig it, probably wouldn't own that shape myself but I don't immediately hate it
I'm generally a MASSIVE fan of single coils in the neck (to the point that I'm always trying to make my neck buckers sound like singles lmao).
The HA/HAX is pretty much exactly that, and fully noiseless to boot. I'd go that route personally, but 60 is a great option. I had it in my old 7, but...
Following this closely. I've made the switch to Linux myself, and currently I'm using stl Josh Middleton with a wine layer under it. Works ok, but a bit unstable.
The bigger challenge has been to find a replacement for kontakt player, because my virtual bass and drum samples run on it.
Used a Schecter Brimstone 7 set for about 8 months. I thought it reminded me of an EMG 81 in the bridge but WAAAAAY hotter. Enjoyed the set a lot, but ended up selling the guitar for other reasons.
