BIAS Amp Software. Worth Upgrading to?

Long answer: Eh, the FX is a POD Farm clone with the positive grid sound, I personally do not like FX compared to AMP. Where I think AMP excels is the fact you can tweak amps past their intended parameters. Whereas FX is not as in-depth, I like AMP's tweaking potential and have had great...

Help me nail the mix! New song recorded

going to apologize before sounding like a dick in advance, but you will never learn if you don't use your ears to begin with. Hell, use a preset and tweak them. The song itself is pretty cool and you can make it huge if you honestly just mess around with EQ and Compression. If you are honestly...

Let's talk guitar VSTs good, bad, ugly

I mean, you answered your own question. Bias Amp is great if you want to tone match (pro) but if you absolutely don't need it, then just go on the cloud and get one from someone elses match. But fwiw you could also tone match yourself with some of the eq's that are now out there these days...

Line 6 Helix Native. DAW plugins.

Superior was also cracked the same day of release... I still bought both pieces of software cause I love the products. Who cares if it does get pirated? Least I don't feel like a POS when I do demos for people with legit software.

    Recording Guitar Tones?

Plugins for power amps? I mean they "can" work the only one I really liked was Ignite Amps one... other than that idk... Their guitars are prebaked unless they give you just DI's (which unless it's a Joey Sturgis month pretty much never), but almost always they are singular guitar tracks. I...

    Recording Guitar Tones?

First things first, mix tone is gonna be different vs. your jam tone. In the mix, it depends what your bass tone is doing. Are you taking out the mids in the bass tone for your guitars to fit? Are your drums overpowering the mix? You're gonna need to give us a clip before we could probably help.

    Superior Drummer Q&A

SO uh... how about that SD 3 guys?

Line 6 Helix Native. DAW plugins.

I feel with every new amp sim, there's always gonna be the preference debate. I think I've flip flopped 100's of times between loving Kazrog and Bias. When Helix dropped I tried the demo and personally, I prefer it to both options. More so because Bias FX doesn't give me the complete experience...

What Plug-Ins Are You Using to Improve Your Guitar Tones?

Depends what you are looking for really? The tone is really in the Amp Sims/Cab IR's that's most of your tone. Then you can add a Tubescreamer depending on your style, EQ will also help (if metal the old meme of 3-4k and some low mids in the 500-700 area) can clean up some tones... depends on...

What cab impulses are people using nowdays?

I could never get my headaround a tone I liked with RedWirez ever since I got the Ownhammer heavy hitters and even trying out some of the Rosen Dig ones they blow them out of the water for me (Alot of my stuff is 8string 7string nowadays for reference) Not saying that they are bad, just not...

    Help me with Drum VST's

I like Superior 2 sound wise, maybe that's just a sound I appreciate that I have and have spent the most time with. I've never heard it sound weak, really. If you program it well, velocity it correctly (not 127 all ham all the time) you can get it natural. The problem with SD2 in itself is...

Let's talk guitar VSTs good, bad, ugly

I think the argument that could be made here is this: Do you think when it came down to it, they spent more time researching the amp behavior itself over the cab? Or, do you think guitarists really just use one cab in their life time. Sometimes, people will want to use a different microphone...

Whoever thought "THIS IS A GOOD IDEA" needs their head kicking in for that. The gain input is so infuriating... what if I wanted to automate my tone or something :(

Anybody still using 32 bit plugins?

If you have more than 4GB of RAM then yeah, 8GB + can help improve render times and such exponentially + gives a little bit more help with system usage.

What is a good all around VST for Guitar Amp tones?

There are many good and bad ones, but problem is it can be super subjective to people's standards of good tones. Personally, my recommendations would be Thermionik 5, LePou (free), Ignite amps (free), Bias (I expect hate for this), Mercuriall (if you like Marshall or an Engl sound), or TH3 any...

He did? Haha I think it sounds pretty good, but you could add more low end in the bass.

I own that pack and jesus those IR's are good. I also like Rosen digitals packs too. I am skeptical of JST's if only because they seem to go well with their sims than others for what I've found.

Looking for the kind of Synthesisers Metal bands use

Man, I have been so out of the loop on Architects apart from the last album, I am still trying to figure out what synth they used on Hollow Crown. I think literally the tone in question is all reverb and delays to give it that ethereal sound.

The U530 is great, if only a little hungry for CPU usage and no option for stereo :(
