You make some great valid points though. Considering if you buy a SC207 you're gonna have to tear it out and gut it to make it a better axe, you could simply save a few more bucks and get the 607 or 407 with the better pups (not to mention you get better tuners the more you pay...ESP stock...
I wouldn't considering a Jackson 7-string unless they released it with the Superlight Weight Soloist body style and headstock (personal preference). The current headstock I'm going to have to agree with Alexander up there. It's like the state of Florida hanging off the neck.
