Hi, so I have a Jackson HSS soloist (sticker bombed to cover the middle pickup) and I'd like to know is it possible to achieve those awesome glassy 80's clean tones with basically only one neck singlecoil pickup.
Asking this since I believe those sounds usually comes from the 2 and 4 positions...
Try to get a hold of a japanese dinky, DKMG, DXMG, DK2 etc. Basically the same neck profile (others might be thinner) but way better quality and they feel more solid by miles. I personally love the ivoroid binding on those also.
The "mechas64castles" page has you all kinds of covered. It already has the 2024 models listed and from there I've found some models that would have otherwise been very hard to find.
Found this.

This is the best site to look for Jackson/Charvel models and if your'e unsure of a model, it's listed here :):yesway: If i remember correctly I saw a guy post it ar the JCFonline forum as he was keeping this awesome database...
How would a 24 fret, 24 3/4 inch scale neck go with a 22 fret body with a 25 1/2 inch neck? I have a 22 fret charvette with a regular scale and just wondering as I saw a nice jackson neck with the smaller scale on sale...
Is the problem the same if both the scales were 25 1/2 and you would...
I would stain the FB black right away, would be really simple since, there's no inlays or binding.
Good for you if the color of the board doesn't bother you that much!
Nice axe and would love to try one myself and the pickups sound interesting too!
Hi and thanks for the kind words. I have liked the feel of the bridge now and it is currently blocked so kinda like a hardtail for me at the moment.
I felt the same way when I had a gotoh 1996t, better for the paöm than OFR but still the screws were a bit in the way. Let me know how this mod...
Wait, is the white one also the same x series. I had no idea they even make warriors without bevels. And sounds like a worse option comfortability wise...
Edit. Ah so it's the one with with black stripes on the body side but with no bevels. Just never noticed that...
That broken headstock is heartbraking to see...
Gongrats on the new guitar, eventhough it might not be exactly the same specs but still the golden era axe and I bet the neck feels amazing and the craftmanship is top notch.
Well, I'm not 100% sure if theyre real or not. Somene on another forum said they're MOP. Definitely not plastic and comparing to my '92 Soloist pro MOP sharkies they react the same under light looking at them from different angles and show different colors. Like MOP will....
None of my jacksons...
Snagged a professional series DX2 for 280€
Serial starts with 6 so I guess made in '96?
Was not a big fan of the HSH look for the longest time, but recently I kinda wanted one and with this finish it looks awesome.
Body has definitely been in the trenches, full of dings and chips, but the...
Awesome! I was thinking about how I forgot this thread and should come and ask how did your mod go. Never even saw your photo :D sorry for that.
So was the mod worth it? Have you had any setbacks etc. Is it a PITA to look for the hex head for fine tuning?
Awesome soloist too btw... More pics...
For me, golden pickups work best/ only for a les paul custom type that has binding on the body. Without binding the pickups draw your attention too much... Or something like that :D
