I picked up a Charvel custom that I thought would have "jumbo stainless" frets based on other information I could find (seller didn't know, but it seems identical to a run ordered by Killerburst a while back).
With calipers, I measure the frets about .051" tall and .112" wide. That seems to...
I realize this is really dumb. I have a guitar that is my favorite looking, sounding, and playing guitar. So naturally I never play it for fear of messing it up.
That's dumb, right? If I don't actually use it, I'd be in the same place if I sold it or lit in on fire. And never in 20+ years...
Just got a wonderful guitar except the truss rod is difficult to turn. I have it set up where I want it, and there seems to be about 90 degrees remaining in the tighten direction.
But it's quite difficult to turn. Really difficult.
1) would you be comfortable with having only 90 degrees left...

Something my now-eleven-year-old said last night had me thinking about this. I obsess over the smallest details of guitars and what not. He and the rest of my family know nothing about them (I don't bore my family with guitar talk, they would just walk away even if I tried), but he'll come in...
So is it reasonable to want to bend the 4th or 5th string up one step with just an index finger? This is with an LP with .010s.
Usually my index finger slips off the string, so I have to use both my index and middle finger together to get those strings up a full step. That usually works but...
So on some (most?) guitars, there's very little difference in tone between my typical upstroke and downstroke picking. There is some variance but it's fine and doesn't bother me.
But on some guitars, I've noticed a huge difference that bugs the heck out of me (up strokes sound plinky compared...
Ugh I already wish I hadn't bought this. So.. this thing. I think it's an OG NightSwan? F serial number plate, but who knows where it might have come from.
Aztec:
I think a Knap signature? The reissues don't have this?
Also, neck has a through-mount nut and truss rod adjusts with a...
I don't see many detail pics of recent Navigators (this one is 2017), so here we go.
Quartersawn neck
Thin binding in the cutaway
Beautiful fret end binding (follows the fret crown perfectly) and nice, tight inlay along the sharp-cornered trapizoids
Neck tenon:

Moved to a new house about two weeks ago. Been too busy to play really but pulled out some guitars today. Bunch of very recent ESP Original Series and an early 2000s LPC Reissue.
All the ESPs needed a significant truss rod adjustment. No big deal and not shocking, but I was surprised the Gibson...
Got this a couple of weeks ago so figured I could post about it now that I've played it a bit
This is (someone else's) custom ordered Horizon. Serial number ends in 1 (instead of 2) and says ESP Custom (instead of Original or Signature series)
Looks more or less like a typical Horizon 1...
What are people using for practice amp heads? Or do people just use a computer or table-top thing?
I'd like to use a 4x12 just because I can, but I've been liking stealing even just 10-15mins to play a bit, but I hate turning on a tube amp for just that short bit.
Kinda just need something...
So Killer Guitar Components used to make a Floyd Block so larger that it made the trem dive only. I think it was 5/8" thick. Sadly they are not available any more.
Anyone know of a place making similar blocks? Seems like they are about 1/2" at most.
The Sophia StopBlock could work I guess...

So I have a bunch of M-IIs all with Elixir 9s with floating Floyds and two tremolo springs, tuned in Standard or Drop D. All of them have huge frets with the action and relief set as close to identical as I can possibly manage.
Why do they each feel a bit different? One of them is definitely...
