    +1 on matching ohms and using a speaker cable and not an instrument cable. That setup should be absolutely bangin'. A 5150 variant through V30s, hard to go wrong. (I'm biased, I run a 5153 with a Mesa cab).

    Re-tubing /modding JCM 2000 DSL

    I modded my DSL 100 to run KT88s and ran that with just two tubes. Sounded decent. Got farty when I started tuning down. I got bored of messing with it and eventually offloaded it, but it was my main amp for over a decade. I'd consider popping KT77s in it. I love those tubes in EL34 amps.
