Since I'm just playing for me I might as well get the cheaper one then. I don't see myself going past the 20th fret so thanks for the input everybody. And I was born in Sault Ste Marie.
I'm deciding I want to learn to play a 6 string bass now but I'm not entirely sure which would be better for me. I've never played a 6 in my life before. Price is entirely not an issue for me but I don't want to just buy the more expensive hoping it suits me. I'm buying it mostly just for...
SX Ursa 2 MN 6 3TS 6 String Bass vs Brice Defiant 6 Nat Bubinga I'm deciding I want to learn to play a 6 string bass now but I'm not entirely sure which would be better for me. I've never played a 6 in my life before. Price is entirely not an issue for me but I don't want to just buy the more...
I had the same problem with my 8 when I switched to it straight from my 6(I also use podfarm.) To get the 8 to sound good you could try doing something like this: Take a amp like the Big Bottom or any of your favorites and pair it with celest v30 cab. Then have dual tones on.Now on tone B...
Safety fire and Torche do! I use it to write djenty stuff. The two A's an octave apart can make some good djents switching back and forth from em. I also like to do some slap guitar with it . Hitting both the A's makes it really easy and it produces a nice sound. It's probably my favorite...
By unique I meant along the lines of something that's rarely used for bands. Like Karnivools tuning, it's really unique. No other bands use it, it's "theirs" I'm liking torche! Gonna have to listen to them some more. Open tunings I wouldn't really call unique, I want tunings that don't even have...
I've set up my 6 string Kinda weird for the stuff I've been playing/making AADGBE I still like to play stuff by other bands a lot so I was wondering if you guys could point me in the direction of bands that use tunings like this. I know periphery, mastodon, architects, black label...
Ahh I see what you guys mean, I'll try that now. I had a .74 I needed to tune to E on it and it was far too floppy for my tastes with a .74 It's working, thanks again guys. Gonna have it ready for tonight =D
^ I've heard theres ways to fix this to get the .80 string gauge to fit in the tuner. I need a answer asap because I need this guitar for tonight @_@ Such a bad idea to switch strings at this time... Thanks a lot guys.
If you go bolt on and you snap the neck on your guitar, you can get it replaced. If your guitars neck-thru and the neck snaps your pretty much boned. Some say bolt on doesn't get as good sustain/overall sound you get with a neck through but if the jobs done properly I'm pretty much sure they get...
Hmm I remembering seeing this site before from another thread. They have strings for everything on here... Thanks a bunch. Anybody got any gauge recommendations though? http://www.juststrings.com/dad-exl140-8.html Will Those fit a 28.625 scale?
^ I started playing lot's of danza and animals as leaders stuff recently and I've found my .74 to be too floppy at E. I got a intrepid 28.625 scale. More specifically I find that when I'm muting the E and B strings together I just get way too much floppyness out of it and it makes it sound...
At first I thought the same of my Intrepid but I grew to like it after awhile. You should just give yourself more time to get used to it(unless you really want to get another guitar)
