Been in the restaurant industry- specifically back of house- for most of my adult life. I've always enjoyed cooking at home so I *thought* I had an understanding of how that works in a restaurant (some things apply and having a refined palette is something that helps). I needed a job and I knew...
In reality they were probably the first band I heard with harsh vocals. Idk, I don't listen to them anymore and I probably wouldn't even put them on my top 100 list, but Chester had crazy control over his vocals, they were probably the only nu metal band where the turntablist actually...
Kerry king esp crackle/camo
Or the Charvel's "lava crackle"
Of course just plain black has to be mentioned.
Will also add any guitar with the combination of white body, mismatched black headstock, and maple fretboard with black inlays. Cant find pics but I know I've seen Ibanez make a few...
It's my understanding that their was something weird with the stain or clear coat on the 520's with the quilted sapele tops that caused them to become cloudy over years, almost to the point where you can't see any figuring of the wood unless you're right up on the guitar. It's a shame cuz the...
Got news that my old bandmate/former best friend committed s*****e today... Hadn't had a real conversation with him/seen him in person in at least 4 years due to his addiction issues & general lifestyle choices. The last time I had any contact with him was probably about a year ago when he...
Just stopping back in to say that this thread is hands down the most interesting and fun gear posting thread I've seen on here in a long time. I love seeing all the cool oddball & unique guitars and amps that have been posted so far much more than the hip new "modern" guitars that usually...
My oldest (and possibly rarest) amp is an Earth Sound Research Super Bass 2000: clone of a 100 watt silver face Bassman. I believe ESR was only in business for 4ish years (I think 1972ish - '76). I could check date codes on the pots but I don't care enough, and my next contender would be my...
Very sick. Love things like this and the all solid state set up is 🙏🤌. Just curious if you already had runs of cables that long to accommodate that big of a "stage" and if you a recording of what it sounded like being able to spread the amps out like that. I've been around many equally sized...
Reverb pricing has been pretty messed up for a while. I do see a lot of people trying to jack up prices to get the buyer to cover the fees and I just don't get that. With Reverb you have an absolutely massive reach compared to trying to sell locally with either craigslist or FB marketplace, so...
Even older MiK guitars made before Korea really hit their stride (specifically stuff from the samick factory in the 80's/90's) has been passable in my experience. Can't really say the same for indo guitars from any era. I've played a few good ones but definitely more bad ones. I'd feel confident...
I knew about the secret 1.5 mode but I couldn't seem to get the switch in the right place on my unit. Might just require some more fiddling. One of the big bonuses in my opinion of the humongous fuzz is the fuzz 3 setting which is the 1.5 mode from behringer version but done in an...
Bought a behringer sf300 on marketplace the other day after wanting to try an FZ2 style pedal, but - having never played an FZ2 style pedal - not wanting to spend the money on the original boss or a "better" clone... Needless to say I'm waiting till payday to see if my finances can now handle me...
Used to run 2 ~50w combos in stereo with certain pedals in the loop and out front of each. Now I just use a half stack and run all my pedals in the front (vintage amp with no effects loop) and set up is way simpler and troubleshooting problems is much faster on the rare occasion that they arise.
I've had similar experiences. I bought a beta bass from a pawn shop with a 90's fender 2x15" cab for ~$400. Decided to move it because my Peavey musicians (MK1 and MK3) were both louder and were better pedal platforms. Ended up selling the cab for $250 and sold the beta bass to guitar center for...
When I was getting really into electronic music production I was hoarding sample packs like crazy, but it wasn't much of a financial burden since a lot of them are free or still relatively cheap depending on the source and how much you actually got from a sample pack. I'd say 20% of what I...
31 years old and I'm still discovering new music all the time. I've found that the older I get the less time & energy I have to participate in/support my local heavy music scene, but I'm always finding new stuff to listen to, and even more old stuff to listen to that I wasn't aware of. Random...
TBH if their newest album is your personal AOTY then idk what else to say other than I'd hate to see the rest of your list 😅.
I mean I tried it and it had some cool moments throughout the album but it's completely overshadowed and ruined by that cringe "I'm a crazy edgy guy who's gonna talk...
I feel like the only "hardcore" band that survived Roadrunner (barely) was Glassjaw. It's probably a good thing they went on hiatus after 2 albums with Roadrunner. I think that was less about roadrunner being controlling and mo re about them trying to market a post hardcore band as a nu metal...
Anyone know of a cheaper alternative to posca paint markers?
I already have good luck with sharpie and/or deco color brand oil based paint markers (could use my variety of colors) but they're oil based so I'm looking for some acrylic paint markers that won't bleed when going over the oil based...
I know you said you like the white version with the reverse headstock but the combination of the red body, maple board with black inlays and mismatched headstock is an absolute win in my opinion. HNGD.
