Hmm not sure what you mean by "drop G". Do you mean 1 half step above standard 8 string F# or a major 7th below? If it is below I wouldn't consider having the bass an octave lower than that even thought it would be incredibly cool. The lowest bassnote I've heard was B, 1 oct below standard...

Ah thanks. Silly me. You're right of course maxofmetal :D I'll just turn the string the other way and unwind it for the tuner :) Well, I'm actually aming for A, a fifth lower than a low E. It's an experiment for shure :agreed:

Youwgh!!! I'd appreciate hearing your suggestions of ....ING BRUTAL distorted bass tones :hbang: My favorite so far is the bass tone on Meshuggahs Destroy Erase Improve, so anything close to that or any brutal tone would be nice to hear :metal:

Yo shitson :) I've got a suggestion for ya. I allways wondered how Meshuggah 8string records would have sounded if they would have continued using Mesa. It would be awsome to hear a few 8string riffs with the DEI & Chaosphere tones. Don't you think? :) If you feel like it
