I didn't realize that those models have the Wizard HP Prestige Necks. I will definitely be on the lookout.

I owned the s2170 and it was quite good craftsmanship-wise, but the neck profile was really awkward for me. It didn't really feel like an Ibanez. I also had some problems with the bridge, but it might have been from the previous owners misuse.

I have tried and owned many Ibanez guitars including, MIJ, MIK, and MII models, and MIJ is just on another level of quality. I know there are some good Indonesian instruments, but they aren't as good Japanese ones. Also, I live in Japan, so the used market for MIJ is pretty good.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I have seen this one before, and it is very close to being what I am after. If I ever saw one for sale here in Japan I would probably try to grab it, but they don't pop up often. The burst seems to look a little more gaudy in videos than in photos though.

This isn't technically amazing, but it is one of my favorite noisy/musical solos. Not as metal as the other offerings, but I can't get enough of it. The solo is from about 2:00 in, but there are a few little squeaky parts throughout the song.

Does anyone know if Ibanez will release more new models this summer?

I noticed the FR isn't listed on most Ibanez sites now... Please don't tell me it is gone.

Ibanez has gotten so close so may times. I'd like a Prestige S in a nice solid colour (maybe seafoam?) with no pickup rings (and preferably no awful 3 way switch cover). I'd also like the same thing, but an FR.

I love this band. Such innovative guitar playing and such a lack of seriousness.

I think Marcos Mena from the band Standards hasn't gotten nearly enough attention yet. His guitar playing is incredibly unique and has developed a lot of interesting techniques. He should be in the same conversations as other modern players like Tosin or Josh Martin from Little Tybee.
