You can try coated strings and see if they last longer. When i gigged i changed string every 2 weeks, now that im a living room player, strings are changed probably every 6 weeks. Thewiping down definitely helps, especially in summer when hands get sweaty easily

My absolute favourite bareknuckle pickup is the blackdog... epic pickup in every way.
My least favourite is the cold sweat, then again, it is in an ash body, maybe it sounds better in a differnt fiddle
right, yeh that reddish hue in the neck pocket and cavity looks like it could be mahogany, the veneer def not. Often on these types of guitars a veneer would be added to mke the finish cleaner, almost like covering the glue joints. Im assuming this was a solid finish..

That is definitely not african mahogany, this is african mahogany. I bought this directly at a lumber mill in south africa where the wood billets were clearly labelled as african mahogany
They also had khaya, very similar in appearance, imo the body doesnt seem like mahogany to me
Dont get caught up with what the specs "should" be.. rely on your hands and ears. Basswood is not necessarily good or bad. It all depends on the actual piece of wood. Suhr uses basswood, but im sure their selection process is prob more detailed than say SX.

The Megadeth concert in Buenos Aires, that one night, Glen Drover plays LTD on many tracks.. anyone know what model that was? he also played a bunch of what looked like custom esp, but mostly played the LTD
