After I plug in, if it's my 7 I'm playing, usually I play Edgecrusher or Shock by Fear Factory. If it's my 6 string I'm playing, I go into Waking the Demon or Wasted Sacrifice
Other than when I first got my guitars, I don't think I've ever used lighter than 11's. Then again, unless it's my first 6 strings on my 7, I'm never in standard tuning either lol
Depends on how tight or loose you like it. I can get away with a 66 on a 25.5 scale, but it is a bit loose for my taste. With your scale, I'd say a 70-74 if you don't want to mess with the tuning machines.
