Probably a bit late to the party but Strings By Mail sourced me some single .85 GHS Boomers, which they usually only offer in sets. They're plenty long enough (I have to trim them for my 28" Schecter) and I'm sure they would do the same for the .80. Price, customer service and shipping (even to...
I have a Schecter C-7 FR and a C-7 Hellraiser (Both 26.5") and recently acquired the 28" SLS C-8. The SLS is another class in terms of build quality, and the new neck shape is lovely to play. The extra length also adds clarity and a tighter feel to the lower end. The skull inlay has been...
So I emailed Schecter directly about the stock gauges (Not been on this thread for a while so missed Steve Naples actually measuring the thing!) and got the following: Subject: RE: Blackjack SLS C-8 String Gauge Query Date: Fri, 19 Jul 2013 16:49:57 +0000 Hello Ben, Thank you for...
I found the data sheet on another ss.org thread: http://www.sevenstring.org/forum/extended-range-guitars/209891-questions-schecter-sls-c-8-owners.html It it's not .80 then that's hours of work on the string calculator down the drain :noplease:
According to the data sheet the C-8 comes with .80. I'm gonna be trying a Circle K .086 in drop E to match the tension of a .059 on my C7 Hellraiser in B standard.
I first emailed on 5th April, they replied the same day with the initial price and said stock was expected in "around two weeks". Once I decided to go ahead I placed the order online on 18th April and the guitar arrived 27th.
Thanks dude! Seeing yours was the first I'd ever heard of the updated inlays so I spent a looong time on your NGD thread. Sounds good. I'd be very interested in hearing more about this.
Now THAT I like, a lot of places just didn't respond at all. I still have every reply so watch this space. Found another funny one: "All product manager from the distributor are at the big german Musik Fairy in Frankfurt. So I do not get someone, who can aswer this at the moment."
Ive been playing Schecter seven strings for a few years, and having recently been on the lookout for a 27 + eight string the SLS C-8 caught my attention straight away. The Hells Gate skull inlay quickly put an end to this :wallbash:, but then I started seeing threads on here with the...
I play a 7 with a band mate who plays an 8 on some tracks. I'm in B standard, his 8 is in B standard with a drop E. This means he can drop in some low 5ths/octaves below me which sounds phatt. I think if we both played 8 all the time we'd just base everything off the low string, this way...
I can also highly recommend using Tim's ebay shop. During 2007 I bought a C7-FR and then a few months later a C7 Hellraiser. My bandmate also purchased a black cherry C7 Hellraiser from him. No problems whatsoever, and way cheaper than buying over here. A google search just showed up...
