    I was referring to you setting the gain on the EVH at 3 o’clock and boosting with the Savage at zero gain. I never typically add gain when boosting. My suggestion was to back off the gain on the EVH, and back off the volume on the Savage.

    In my experience volume max on a savage drive is way to high for most situations, especially an EVH. The Savage at around 1 o’clock has more output than most normal overdrives turned all the way up. Try rolling back the output to around noon and see what happens.

    What’s interesting is when using the TU-3W and Zuul with my 6505, there does appear to be some signal leak (pretty much the same volume as when the post is at 0 FWIW) even when the tuner is active. It appears that it may be amp specific as this does not occur on my bass rig (Darkglass 500).

    I don’t have that issue in the bass rig where I’m using a TU-3 with the Zuul. Does the indicator light change at all on the Zuul when you’re tuning? What amp are you using?

    Tubescreamers and OD's?

    I prefer the SD 805 to any other tube screamer type pedal I’ve tried, including the Maxon 808. The Maxon had a fuzziness to the low end that I didn’t care for compared to the 805. I also really like the Airis Effects Savage Drive, but it doesn’t boost the mids as much.

    NAD! VHT/Fryette Pitbull 100
