    Mixing Newb Presents First "Mix"

I can't really give much advice other than from a listeners perspective cause I can't ever seem to get my own mixes sounding good, but the track IMO sounds good. I feel like I can barely hear the drums through the guitars tone though. Nice track by the way, very thrashy sounding.

    Learn shred... where?

Start listening to shred. Guys like yngwie malmsteen, Jason Becker, Jeff loomis, Paul warding ham, buckethead, etc. I'd also recommend you pick up a copy of rock discipline by John petrucci and speed mechanics for lead guitar by Troy stetina and work thru the exercises with a metronome.

The fretting hand in sweep picking

Like the others have said, look up tabs. But do yourself a favor, for it sounds like you're teaching yourself to sweep. Use your pinky. It's your friend when sweeping. I see alot of people starting to sweep not using their pinky and that's a bad habit to get into.
