I've been playing guitar more seriously for about 2 years and I have yet to really dabble in any soloing whatsoever, it actually kinda scares me.
I guess my question is, where do I start? What's a good jumping off point for getting comfortable with that area of the guitar?
I felt that way with Les Claypool back when I really started getting into musicianship but more recently the band Junius. I've never heard anything like them before, great band.

Well I wasn't into sworn to a great divide at all and that was my first experience with soilwork without Wichers and that album felt very weak to me but this one to me is the strongest album since Natural.

Their last album was a bit lacking I think but holy shit bedlam is excellent. I think it's the clearest they've ever sounded as well. Still techy but not over the top either
I always enjoyed listening to the Deftones record Saturday Night Wrist when I was feeling down. It just has an atmosphere to it that the other records don't have, its eerie but great for listening to when you're feeling blue.
