Hey everyone,
after a long hiatus (haven't been producing anything since spring 2017!) here's a new full cover of mine and since I've been mostly covering acoustic ballads before, this is specifically my first full rock-oriented mix (with distorted guitars, programmed drums and all)...
So the thing is, I apparently lost the bolt on the back of my Iron Cobra beater head which is supposed to adjust the beater head at an angle with respect to the beater itself, and fix it in place. Pic attached.
The result is the beater head keeps turning backwards on itself while playing...
Hey there, kind of an odd request.
I remember seeing Merrow's guitars tracking video for his death metal side project Demisery (w/ Gord Olson, circa 2011?). It was so satisfying to watch for the great riffs and tone.
Merrow deleted it from his channel a few years ago, I think after the end of...
Not posting in the Pod HD thread since it's been basically abandoned.
So, it seems that after all these years of owning a Pod HD500, I can't get high gain tones to sound fully right in any possible way. The general tone is ok, but on single note stuff and especially on any kind of palm muted...
Referencing from this thread that was getting too dispersive: long story short, I have an all-mahogany (body, top, neck...quite a slab of dark wood!) plus ebony fingerboard Schecter C1. The guitar is very dense and with very little acoustic resonance, hence very dark.
I once ordered a BKP...
Noob question, but the doubt just crossed my mind.
Does one have to phase-check all the pieces of the kit in VST drums as well, or does a software kit come "assembled" with the correct phase relationships already, at least on average?
Never thought about that before. I know I can always check...
Hi there, was uncertain if posting this here or in Rec Studio, move if needed.
I love music and getting to see the creative process of artists as much as I love nerding about recording and producing techniques. So I was looking for any kind of music-related movie/documentary with the right...
Hi there, I’m a hobbyist musician with a passion for home recording and a small, amateur home studio. To gain experience, I’d be glad to offer free mixing /drum programming services, of course by online communication since I’m based in Italy.
Given my free-of-charge proposal, I’d mainly cater...
Did any drummer here get to watch Gene's brand new DVD "The Atomic Clock: The Clock Strikes II"?
I have the first "Atomic Clock" DVD and while the proposed exercises and anectodes are valuable, I found it lacking in performance material (Mechanism isn't surely Gene's top material for a metal...
Hey there, as a 90s metal tone nostalgic and long time Death super fan, I'm used to an ongoing GAS for the above mentioned valvestate 8100, always fading and coming back from year to year since forever. Which leads me to the compulsive search for one every time it strikes.
Internet pic for...
So, just for the sake of music discussion. Any Slipknot fan here? Or hater? Or sceptic?
I personally handed Slipknot another chance after 10 years of hating on them and now it all clicked into place.
Here's my impressions on my blog. Have your go at it...
Does anyone have advice on a vocal patch for recording for the Pod HD500? I actually just need advice on the gain and output ratio for the vintage pre more than anything, as I use a blank patch with just that.
My mic pre hardware setting is at roughly 75% and have the +18 software switch...
So, one of my favourite ballads.
First proper DAW recording. First ever vocal cover. First ever full production with mixing and mastering. Bunch of firsts there!
Everything's been done at the best of my both poor present production skills and equipment, as a beginner. Also poor are my guitar...
Hey everyone.
So, this question is stupid but I'd like to hear your approach. How do you go about tracking strummed acoustics, and specifically doubling them?
I'm at my 2nd ever home studio production and I'm just getting my feet wet with some ballad covers (also easier to mix and master) but...
Hey guys, finally closing my first full home recording production ever, basically a whole big pilot test. I'll probably let you hear the final product, it's a cover.
On to the meat: I made a quick essential mastering phase (eq, comp, multicomp, limiter). All ok up to limiting.
I had a -1db...
Hey everyone.
Kind of a tone chase \ general debate \ advice thread here.
I'm currently rethinking my present pickup sets.
I own two guitars: a Schecter C1 and a Squier strat, which I modded HSS.
Point is: maybe I'm just getting older, but I noticed I'm striving for a less and less compressed...
Hey guys
As many others did, after suffering from a forced Win10 install by Microsoft last June, I modded my Windows 10 system to gain the best privacy and performance capabilities.
As I'm Italian and there were no such online tutorials at the time, I decided to contribute and craft an italian...
Feel free to move this in general music discussion if that's the case.
Just wondering on the existence on some drumming-based equivalent of Troy Grady's "Cracking The Code" series.
https://www.youtube.com/user/troygrady/videos
I really admire the guy for the incredible amount of work, analysis...
Hey guys,
As I enjoy noodling on the drums as well, I was thinking of how great of a resource Drumeo was for its free 1h VIP instructional videos on YT.
So I was like: does anything comparable exist for guitar? Like a channel with free "official" long lessons?
On the other hand, speaking of...
Hey guys, so these days I'm apparently caring more for vocals than for the instrumental.
I want to broaden my knowledge of talented vocalists \ singers \ screamers, whatever.
I'm looking for musical minds who can deliver tasty vocal lines, and\or who have an overall "artistic" vision or...
