Product Details for PID 602130 I bought 3 of these from monoprice for like 13.95 a piece. Work perfect and I can put whatever guitar I want in them. I see they went up a whole buck since then.

It's not so much the chip honestly than the big nasty smudge left behind from when I tried to fix it myself. I don't recommend trying to repair a black satin finish I'll say that much. It looks like I just smeared grease into about a 3 inch spot on the horn. Hard to show in a pic but it's pretty...

What a Deal!? So I emailed again yesterday. I was apologized to and told they would absolutely fix it for not very much cash. Their email system was recently swapped from @carvin.com to @keisel so reasonable enough explanation to me. I'm am happy, carry on.

You're probably right on that completely. Maybe I will make a few calls around where I live and see what's up.

But having said that. You guys are right and the chip doesn't really stop any rockin... At this point it more just chaps my ass that I didn't get any more responses. That bugs me I guess.

Their site specifically advertises that they repair guitars and to email or call for a quote. I definitely don't find it unreasonable that I called them and asked them about a service they provide... I was totally up front and told them exactly what happened. Either way, I'll probably get...

So an update on this. It didn't turn out very well. Long story short I tried contacting Carvin about having it repaired. I'm curious if anyone has gone through anything similar. I've emailed through their site which I initially received no response. Called and was transferred to the guitar tech...

Thanks I have hope. Although I will never sell this thing anyways so I don't care all that much. I have hope that it will come out good. It already looks a ton better with the stained portion. It looked really bad initially.

Heartbreaking moment. My new "ish" DC800 somehow acquired a mysterious chip. No idea how, I'm sure it's my fault and no fault of Carvin's awesome finish but wow it bummed me out.. However I'm going to fix this shit, this old StewMac dude inspired me...

I don't get the obsession to sit down and clone your fav band. When I really like a band, it pumps me up to write my own stuff. Not to sit down and learn their song that they made. It seems like all these bands who claim they don't sound like Meshuggah also have YouTube videos of themselves...
