One of my KRK Rokit 5 (I believe G2) monitors just stopped producing sound completely. I assume it's dead and just needs to be replaced as they must be 10 years old at this point, but wanted to check here to see if there is anything relatively easy I can try to fix it?
Already tried swapping...
Yeah no tailpiece on mine, but I feel like it might be something bridge related. I don't see how it could be a high fret as I've raised the action super high and there is a good amount of visible clearance between the string and the higher frets when fretting the 10th-12th.
Yeah that's pretty much what I was implying. It looked like the bridge was level, but it may have been tilted back slightly. I intentionally had the screws a bit looser when I installed the tremol-no to see if it would help. My only worry is how this will impact my intonation. I didn't get a...
So last night I was installing a tremol-no, and after installing it played pretty much perfectly with no buzzing (aside from having some noise issues with the tremol-no, but that's a whole new problem I'll have to deal with). I think it may have been that I had the screws holding the spring claw...
Yeah it's very noticeable through the amp. It's particularly bad on the 2nd-4th frets; you can hear a high pitched metallic ringing from the buzzing that's made worse by distortion.
Trust me, as someone who works in IT, I understand how common user error is, but I don't think that's the case...
I'm not trying to correct the intonation with the truss rod. As I stated in my initial post I'm adjusting the truss rod because of really bad fret buzz on the low A. I mentioned intonation because I could live with higher action if it meant getting rid of the buzz; which it does, but raising the...
Hmmm, there doesn't seem to be an "in between spot". The nut just comes off but the relief doesn't change. I probably just have to use heavier strings?
I've got an Ibanez RG752AHMNGB that I bought a few months ago with a super buzzy 7th string in drop A (64 gauge on low A). Raising the action helps a bit but makes it impossible to intonate the low A (super sharp even with the saddle all the way back).
I've been trying to add some relief to my...
I'm not sure if he used a fret rocker. He seemed to think it was an overtone that was just coming from the guitar naturally.
Yeah it happens on the neck pickup too.
I've owned this guitar since 2012 and don't recall having this issue before. It's been played relatively lightly. Is it possible...
Yeah it's not happening on my other guitars. I took it to a well reviewed local guitar shop for a full setup and pointed the issue out to them; they didn't think they could fix it. At this point I'm just gonna live with it for now since to me it's a minor issue and not super noticeable unless...
I was thinking maybe it was buzzing on one of the higher frets but after raising the action there's an obvious clearance between the string and the next frets when fretting at the 10th-12th so I'm not sure why it would still be happening.
Yeah that's how I would describe the sound as well. Only thing is this is happening before and after adjusting truss rod/action. I'm probably just going to have to take the guitar to a shop this weekend and have someone else look at it if I can't come up with anything else to try.
