Got A Couple of Amps Modded

I just picked up a 3 channel Triple Recto myself. Can I get details on that mod? Thanks!

Contrasting gain structures of "clean" amps

I saw Tantric at a club in Lafayette, LA when the first album came out and the guitarest used a clean/dirty tone blend live. It looked like a Fender Twin and a Rectifier. When he used a clean tone, both amps stayed clean and when he when to a dirty tone, just the Rectifier switched but the...

Orange Pedalbaby or Seymour Duncan Powerstage 170 or ...

I did pick up the Baby Bomb and it is pretty loud. Doesnt sound bad with my XT Live either. But ultimately I picked up a Mesa Fifty/Fifty poweramp.

    Mesa Mark IV. Solo/Volume boost

I use a Boss GE7 in the effects loop of my Mark IV for this exact thing. When I go into a solo I kick on the effects loop and I have the EQ set to bring the volume up a little and it works perfectly.

Mesa Recto with over-sized 4x12: experiences?

This works really well. I use a Boss GE7 on my Single Recto and also used it on the MW Dual I had. And the clean stays clean so no tap dancing. Just leave it on.

Orange Pedalbaby or Seymour Duncan Powerstage 170 or ...

Looking for a poweramp solution to run my Pod X3 Live into with a 2x12 Recto cab for home practice or small gigs. I am currently running it through my Mesa Mark IV power section temporarily to dial in tones. I am open to any/all options up to about $600 US. So far the Powerstage is very high...

    Boost suggestions

I guess I could clarify by saying not necessarily “boosting” the tone but tightening up the overdrive channels while the clean tone remains clean.

    Boost suggestions

Ok, I have a Boss GE7 I could try. I guess something like a TC Spark mini boost would be too much then?

    Boost suggestions

I have done a little searching but couldnt find specifically what I am looking for. Is there a clean boost that I can leave on that will tighten up, lets say, a Rectifier without distorting the clean tone. Like a leave on all the time kind of thing. Thanks.

Fortin "33" pedal is in-stock again.

I ran the 33 into a Mark IV and yes, it cuts a ton of bass. IMHO, you really have to be going for that sound. It wasnt very versatile. I own a EVH 50w and I can see where it would do the same to that amp. On the other hand, I bought the Blade and love it.

    Fortin Pedals

In the band I am in now I just dial the gain back on the lead channel to kind of act like a better version of the crunch channel, then kick on the Blade for a solo boost or to act as a third higher gain channel. Then as a volume boost for solos, I run a boss EQ in the loop set with a slight...

    Fortin Pedals

I got mine in a couple weeks ago. I use it with my Mesa Mark IV. I had the 33 and still own the Grind but found they both cut too much low end on the Mark amps. The Blade is perfect because I can kick it own while I am playing and keep my low end right where I want it but still get a boost...

    Which 2x12 should I get?

I sold my Mesa 4x12 and picked up the Recto 2x12 and never regretted it. The 2x12 sounds huge. I was concerned because I had a Carvin Legacy 2x12 with V30s and it sounded small and boxy. But the Mesa 2x12 sounds great. Never missed the 4x12 at all.

Help me decide on a new amp.

So after reading all of this you guys have me leading towards the old school Marshall JCM 2000 dsl. My concerns with it are, can I run an EQ in the effects loop to just use as a volume boost? I am also leaning Rectifier because it is different enough from the Mark and has the solo boost...

Help me decide on a new amp.

Thanks for the suggestions/opinions. I think I am leaning towards the Single Recto or JVM because I have actually played those 2 and kind of know what to expect but keep the suggestions coming.

Help me decide on a new amp.

Currently I have a Mesa Mark IV and I am looking for a second amp to compliment it. Looking for something in the 50 watt range with a good/decent clean and a dirty channel that can go up into hard rock/metal levels of gain. I would prefer an effects loop. I don't mind if the dirty channel...

    A more clear JB pickup.

I have seen this recommended before as a good replacement for the JB. Might have to try it. I have messed with the height of the pickups a little but never the individual coil screws. Might mess with that also.

    A more clear JB pickup.

I have a SD JB pickup in the bridge pickup of each of my guitars. I love the output but I feel like I lose note clarity sometimes. Is it because of the high output or is it inherent to the pickup? I have them in a Gibson Flying V, Les Paul, PRS singlecut and a hot rodded strat. I play...

    MKIV vs Sig X

I have owned 2 Sig X heads and the Mark IV. Sold the Sig X in favor of the IV. It is true that the Sig X still needs a boost to do what the Mark IV can do without one. I wanted to like it but everytime I plugged back into in the Mark IV it would remind me of the character and feel the Sig X...

    NAD - Mesa Mark IVb

I tried EL34s in my IVb and didnt care for it at all. Kind of thinned the tone a little. It also hasnt been the most reliable and I am starting to read about these amps breaking down being fairly common. The knobs on my lead channel quit working and had to have a bunch of caps replaced so...
