    Matching Dimarzio super 3

I just put a dimarzio super 3 in my ibanez rg2ex1 and was wondering what a good match would be for the neck position. does it have to be a "neck" pickup. it is a high output high resistance pickup. i play mostly metal with high gain. any suggestions?

    Decent low priced Ibanez

so now there are a few little things affecting my choice. The rg2ex1 has v7/v8 and a 5 way selector which is good. and a sorta plain but decent finish. Now the 421 although looks better has what im afraid is crappier pickups and only a 3 way selector. but 421 is mahogany, and i haven't come...

    Decent low priced Ibanez

I think on the newer purple model its going to come with the V7/V8 combo but on the older red model it comes with the EMG Designed. I'm a little leary as to how these are going to sound. How about the necks on either of them?

Are bass strings fitting in the ferrules alright? I wasn't sure they would fit. If they do thats great because that now opens up a few more choices in gauges.

I ordered two Intrepids and they came with two different cases. One came with the Douglas case which fit perfectly. The other came with a CNB brand case. The guitar fit lengthwise but the neck slid out of the pocket midway in the case and the guitar would almost turn sideways in the case.

The burst finish came out awesome indeed. Not as dark on the edges as the first run but definitely awesome nonetheless. Some ebony taking place of the rosewood could have been acceptable also, but no biggie. I just got one each Pro/Standard and what I can say is they both play great. I think...

Push/pull for tone and volume .....

I'm looking to install two push/pull pots into my Strat and I had a couple questions. The first pot is going to replace the volume pot to work as a switch to activate the bridge pickup. Now for the second pot I was just going to rewire the middle pickup tone knob to work both the middle...

[Tech] HOW TO: The reversible 18v mod!

I just did this mod on my new ec-1000 with dual 81's. I love what it did for the bridge pickup but the neck pickup has seemed to loose all of its jazzy tone. I can barely tell the difference when i switch between the two. any one ever had this happen

I'm kinda curious how exactly the ghost burst finish is going to be achieved. All of the other finishes seem to be like a stain or dye if you will. But what about the ghost...is it going to be painted?
