    Different genres in one album?

Hahahaha yep, since I was 13 and I'm almost 40. I'm even in the fan club :) Sure; their biggest hit, "MMMbop" is perhaps not the greatest song ever, but they've evolved amazingly as a band and as musicians in the intervening 24 years; just sucks for them that they made such the impression with...

    Different genres in one album?

My favorite band is Hanson (not joking, for those of you old enough to know who they are). Each of the three brothers has a unique writing style; Zac is more emo/ballad, Tay is more funk/roots, and Ike is more gospel/Southern rock - and they all sing their own songs (and back each other up on...

NGD: Kiesel AM7 7 string multiscale

Kiesel's advert pics are criminally overexposed. If I thought I was getting the one in their pics and then the one you posted pics of showed up, I'd be livid. That said, it really is a beautiful guitar - I'm just not crazy about the borderline-false advertising. Also - did you pay extra...

EBMM Majesty and Artisan Majesty Difference?

The majesty, IMO, is the most consistent instrument form one guitar to the next, artisan or otherwise. I played a BUNCH at NAMM last year and they all played, felt, and sounded like the Arctic Dream 7 I used to have. Don't get the artisan for any other reason than aesthetics.

    Moving on from Elixirs?

lol I think you might be alone :) You might try Ernie Ball cobalts or M-Steels. They have a bit more "bite" on the fingers (they're also not as visually bright). But especially with the unwound strings, I NEED them to be as slippery as glass under my fingers. I don't need ANY friction...

    Moving on from Elixirs?

I just use GHS Fast Fret and my strings never get nasty. But the truth is that guitar strings lose brightness and 'zing' and if you have the same set on for a year, it happens so slowly that of course you're not going to notice lol. It's just like an oil change. Sure, you can drive until the...

Boden OS7 vs Music Man Majesty 7

Let's just say his online presence leaves something to be desired. The EBMM forums are becoming increasingly well-known for being more of an advertisement rather than an open community where it's okay to be both flattering AND critical. He threw a fit when the Majesty was released and initial...

    Moving on from Elixirs?

Contrary to popular belief, Elixers don't last much (if any) longer than any other strings. The reason they SEEM to last longer is the coating prevents the corrosion that builds up and deadens the strings faster. However, they still deaded on a structural level; so you're basically playing with...

Boden OS7 vs Music Man Majesty 7

Having played both and owned a Maj for about 6 months when they first started shipping, my vote is for the Maj. And I hate to be the reason Sterling Ball gets one more dime, so you know I mean what I say.

Pedals that have disapointed you and why.

EXH Ravish Sitar. Just all-around terrible in every way imaginable. Utterly unusable.

    EBMM JP 8-String In Development

That must be new - because last week (or two) he said that there isn't an 8-string in development because John doesn't play an 8, but if he ever did, then they would make him one. I hope they come out with something for next year, since the JP16 is such a huge letdown (no piezo, FR 1000, no...

    N(U)GD Gary Kramer Turbulence R36

Excellent review! Can't stand these types of guitars, personally. You confirmed all my suspicions about why I'd hate it lol. Even that 30-fret Ibanez (or however many frest it had) was pointless, IMO. Your guitar looks pretty sick, though!

    EBMM JP or Carvin dc700

Very cool! My ONLY issue with that whole run was people flipping them and claiming they have roasted (torrefied) maple fretboards/necks. To this day, while I dig some of Jeff's work on the fretboard coloring (my V8 has a light gray color that makes everyone say it looks dirty lol), I can't jive...

    Jason Richardson Signature EBMM?

I dunno... JP16 has no piezo OR locking tuners OR MM bridge (it has the FR 1000) and it's just as expensive as any JP; when it should be priced with the Albert Lees and whatnot. Can't wait to see this one, though.

    BFR LOGO (music man)

You should PM username Jonathan2022 - he's the EBMM expert around here. He'll give you a less snarky answer than mine and more informative as to the differences between tone of say, a JP6 and a flamed koa top JP6 BFR. That said, nothing I said is any less true, IMO lol

    Carvin V220 value?

Well, OP, there you go :) There's a starting point. Just gotta generate a little buzz. But, uh, for the record DO NOT try to sell it in this thread. You will be banned lol. Trust me - I was. Take it to the marketplace.
