    The key to .6mm is to not plunge them. I ramp mine in; have never broken a bit and can slot a fret board in 20 mins or so

    did finish sanding, fretwork, and applied the finish oil. Then I got the tuners installed, and strung up the guitar. plays very well I'm not a huge fan of how the top got worn through while sanding. Need to use thicker tops for this body style

    The guitars I build start with a 1.25" body blank with a bolt on neck. I could get to an inch thick if I went neck through.

    I shape the neck and install frets. Then I straighten the neck with the truss rod and level and crown the frets.

    I have a big spacer that I made to lift the neck off the spoil board. I cut the trussrod slot, and the outside contour of the neck. after that's done I drill 1/4" alignment holes that correspond with the waste board and use dowels to line up the neck if I'm going to carve the profile.
