One good exercise is to play a chord that has these special notes of a certain mode. Let's say that you want a chord that represents the phrygian mode. I'd take the root, minor 3rd, flat 9, maybe 11th. There are many options but one note that is more important than the other ones is the flat...
If you have a tonic center that you avoid it's not really the tonic. Let's say we are in the key of C playing Em, G, Em, C, F, Hmb5, Em. All the chords are in the key of C but c doesn't sound like the tonal center. The center here is E and the appropriate scale to use E phrygian, which has the...
I've never done that kind of pinch harmonics... I think it's just hard enough to get exactly the right sound every single time just by using a downstroke. But to tremolo pick pinch harmonics...that would be cool!
Haha I don't have my guitar with me right now but I could think easily of 8 different ways to play C#m7b5 and 4 more ways with some effort. It's all about using different string groups like 1234 1235 2345 and 2346 and for each string group there are at least 4 different inversions for each chord...

Same thing with me. I can read and play but doing both simultaneously is hard. But I guess it's like learning a new language, the more you learn it, the smoother you can speak and read it.
Yea I'd like to learn to sight read pretty much anything in 6 weeks. I think I'm an ok sight reader right now but problems are caused by big jumps between notes and notes that are not in the key. Also some rhythms are hard but I can figure them out with some time. I can also figure out...
