    I personally never would. I'd prefer to have a guitar that was beaten through years of normal use. I guess if you're impatient, and don't plan on selling it, then why not?

    Scales, and learn about playing in time and in key. It's difficult to notice improper technique yourself, but not impossible. Metronome.

    Never give up. Sometimes learning songs of others expands your physical abilities, giving you more utilities to work with creatively. If you love it, don't quit.

    For a low B, I'd want a .52, .54, or .56, depending on how much high end you want. .54 for a proper Djentlman.
