I was trying to figure that out as well a few years ago so I purchased a Behringer CS400 Compressor/Sustainer Pedal for $29. I figured out I didn't need one and wasn't out of much cash with no need to really flip it either. I can always pull it back out if I start thinking about using a...
I was in the Genome beta. It came a long way since the beta as just an updated version of WoS. It turned out to be something a lot more than what WoS was and it's really nice.
There would be no shims installed on the bridge on your Jackson from the factory. A new Floyd would come with the shims pre-installed out of the box.
It sounds like they didn't remove the pre-installed shims before installing it into your Jackson. The D and G would be too high as you describe...
I ordered one for me. I haven't owned an SD-1 before, and I have been trying to decide between the original and the waza for a long time. So, I just went with this one.
In celebration of our milestone 50th anniversary, BOSS has unveiled a trio of collectible, limited-edition versions of our most popular and influential compact pedals. The DS-1 Distortion (DS-1-B50A), SD-1 Super Overdrive (SD-1-B50A), and BD-2 Blues Driver (BD-2-B50A) offer a host of unique...
Nice score. I picked one of these up a few months ago and I am really happy with it. It has lots of great tuning presets, a killer display, and it's very accurate. It actually kicked my trusty TU-3w off my board.
I don't have a modeler, but I do use headphones with my Captor X and with plugins on my Mac for monitoring. I am very happy with my Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO headphones. They sound great and are not super expensive. Very comfortable as well.
I was going to order used. I had one I was watching on Reverb, but it sold. Then I got an offer from KSR on Reverb for a brand new one with a discount, so I took them up on that. It's the stock color, black sparkle. The used one I was watching was flat black and looked pretty cool.
It's doesn't have a really pronounced wah sound is best way I can describe it. It's a slightly cleaner wah I guess? It's really not bad at all. I like that sound as an alternative to the JP Cry Baby, but not a replacement.
The wah lock button is pretty cool if you want to quickly go to a cocked...
This just arrived today. I'm going to check it out tonight. I have a John Petrucci Cry Baby currently that I am happy with. So, I'm not sure if this will replace it or not on my pedal board. This one does have some nice features.
TL;DR - I taught myself how to setup my guitars and bias my amp myself. This made me happy. If you are not doing this stuff yourself, I think you should consider it. Probably a lot of you here already do this stuff yourself.
I used to be the guy that took all my guitars in to be setup, to have...
